The MPG button, as well as the wieght button and all is just a conversion tool. You still have to do the math yourself completely on your own. For example, say you divide your miles by fuel used and get your MPG, then hit the mpg button, it will just give you a list of converted numbers in different forms like how much fuel per 100miles, I think metric conversions, etc (only done it once since it turned out to be pretty worthless, so I dont remember what all exactly it showed). Was about 10 or or so different conversions.
