Scosche Dash Kit for DOUBLE DIN

Has anyone used the Scosche kit to install their Double DIN radios? I have an IVA-W200 I want to install and ordered this kit and would like any opinions.

Here is a link to the piece I ordered from their website.

http://www.scosche.com/press_room.aspx?year=0&id=124

Thanks! Any tips as well as I am new to the Honda world, and to your site!

Oh yeah, I'm putting this in a Hybrid if that matters at all

You might want to see this thread:

I think I have read that the kit you are referring to does not always match up to the correct color. Plus if you order the parts from the site in the above link its like 20 bucks cheaper. I planning on ordering those parts once I figure out which deck I am going to purchase.

So the colors don't match on this kit, I was about to order it from crutchfield, because it comes free with the head unit, but I want the colors to match.

I just bought my Civic last week and took the W200 out of my old car. The kit I ordered was just released by Scosche in February of this year - it is the blue metallic piece. If the color does not match just so I will be returning this. I mean....isn't that the point?

Can I see some of your install pics nightrider? Email me at amickkm@auburn.edu, I am very interested. Anyone else too. I need as much help as I can get on this deal.

I talked to a guy at the local audio shop that is doing my install, he said that scosche makes two different ones, on that is cheaper and lower quality, and another that is higher quality. The more expensive one matches great. I looked at the kit itself and it looks like it matches, I will take pics after mine is installed to show you if it matches.

Hey Bootsie,

Where are you getting your install done? I got the Pioneer AVIC-D3 and I was planning on installing it myself becuase I couldn't find anyone to do it that I could trust.

I got mine done at the Hi-fi shop. It is a small store, but they do a great job, it turned out really good. I am going to install all of my speakers and subs and stuff myself, but I really didn't feel like taking the whole dash apart. It was definitely worth the money to have them do it.

Hey Bootsie,

Thanks for the response. I just got my done! Wow it looks gorgeous! It wasn't too hard to do. Taking the panels off was the easiest part... I need new speakers!!!

I got the Scosche kit and hate it....already have it ready to return. The color matches, the problem is that they did not add any metalic to it. The OEM part from Honda is just as expensive. What I don't understand is why the OEM dash panel w/navi is 30 bucks for every color EXCEPT the blue. If you have a blue metallic dash it's 70. Not that it matters, I just want my stuff to match!

True that! The color is slightly off, but its not too bad. I think the Scosche looks really bad. I purchased both to compare them and ended up using the OEM... It is much BETTER!!

Hmm glad I found this thread, some good info. I was thinking about going with the scosche kit but now that I have heard what people have to say about it no matching I am having my second doubts.

I will probably just order the OEM Honda trim pieces for civics w/ navi.

Order OEM. The Scosche not only is not a true color match but the fit is not good. Does not Line up well w/ the rest of the dash.

And you can always just order the Trim Ring from Scosche...

On mine the color matches it just doesn't have the same metallic. It's a kit so I'm going to keep the kit and just buy an OEM honda plastic piece. *shrug*
