Rear Left Speaker: Quiet? Complete Alpine System.
Hi guys! I'm fairly new to 8th civic and this is my first large post (Sadly one requesting help an not giving it..) A year ago I had my local speaker shop install a sytem for me (door speakers replaced with Alpine Type R, tweeters removed, 2 1000 watt 2006 Alpine v12 amps, and 2 12" Alpine Type R Sub added.) System was satisfing but lacked the quility for the amount I paid for it.. It turns out they had it wired through the stock analog wiring (I call it the 'analog' wires even though that is probably not the right term.) into an Analog-RCA converter which connecting into the amps. This P.O.S. was the problem, it added AMAZING amounts of extra noise it turns out. I installed my IVA-D310 HU not knowing that the converter was the problem that added all of the extra noise. When I was done, I notice a slight improvement in sound quality, but not much. This pointed me in the dirction of the 'mighty converter' thing. My solution to get rid of it was to wire the system completly with RCA wires. Once I wired the system with RCA wires, I notice every thing was a lot quieter but the static noise was finally gone.. and with it the functionality of my back left speaker.
Useally when I'm idle the back left speaker doesn't work at all and when I start to gain speed it crackles an pops on and off and when I've reach 65-70 it works perfectly. I've tried taking the speaker wires from the amp to the back left speaker and plugging them into the back right speaker and when I do that the back right speaker doesn't work just like the left one (so that eliminates the probability of the speaker being blown). I also tried replacing the RCA cables and that had no affect. Maybe the connectors on my tuner box are bad?? My current setup with the RCA wiring (oops just noticed top right box isn't labeled.. it should read Factory Harness): ![]() THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!! |

thanks for the reply, and sorry to revive an old thread but just in case anyone comes accross a problem like mine---
It turns out that the amp was screwed down to hard to the side of the box and was actually grounding itself internally... Ouch. quick fix = electrical tap along the inside of the amp where it was grounding on itself.!!! |
