I typically go to crutchfield.com, look up the speakers (or any other car stereo components), copy and paste the model #, then go on Onlinecarstereo.com - Wholesale Car Audio/Stereo Deals At Bargain Prices and buy from there. They're prices are usually much cheaper and i've never had a problem with them. Had to return a couple bad items and it was a smooth process. They should be running some nice specials soon now that xmas is coming up.

After doing some research I settled on the Polk Audio DB651s's for front and rear powered by a 4 channel amplifier (45Wx4 RMS) running off of the stock head unit to keep factory look.. If you want to see more about the setup I'll be doing some reviews/pics in my Build thread in the next few weeks
Like everyone has said it really comes down to what your looking for from the speakers and your budget.. I got my entire setup for a little under $300 and it's all I really need and still have option to upgrade in future Last edited by CCSubaru; 11-19-2012 at 02:31 AM. |

To be honest I would reverse this and do the doors first, while the rear deck will be a much easier install, your sound stage will be coming from the back. If you leave the stock speakers in the rear deck which are fairly good at the midrange level, and replace the doors so your tweeters are closer to your ears, it'll sound a lot cleaner and you'll have a more enjoyable listening experience than you would with solely replacing the rear deck to start IMO
