Vision 1440R Alarm system UPGRADE!`

Well, I'm really excited, I tried the DEI alarm upgrade product with pathetic results (alarm engaged every other time I locked the car). I actually tried two of them before sending it back, no dice... So, I waited six months for Vision, the japanese alarm maker, to update their 1440S+ product to the new 1440R and now I ordered it. There customer service is the shit, they even sent me a picture of the package with my address written on it nice and clear. I'm quite excited, as all who have known this product have recommended it to me as a significantly better model than DEI's (727T), which doesn't read the lock signal very well.

For those of you unfamiliar with keyless entry upgrade systems, they are alarms that read your car's door lock signals to engage and disengage the alarm system. So, for suckers like us who already have a remote built into their key and don't want to carry a seperate dongle for their alarm, this is the shit!

All but one of the wires from the DEI install (which took forever to tap all the individual door and trunk actuators...) will be used for the Vision alarm, I just need to run one single wire to the car's turn light flashers and otherwise I'm ready to go.

I will keep all informed on my progress! 3 days to reciept of package!

Well, I installed the alarm today, it works!!! I'm concerned that I couldn't find a wire that registers a full 12v for the hazard lights when the doors are locked using the factory remote. I found one that comes from the turn signal controll that registers a very week voltage, and it seems to work alright, but I plan to run a wire through the firewall and directly tap the light wire when I hook up an actual alarm, I'm currently running the system off the factory horn untill I can find a reasonably priced battery backup siren.

If anyone would like to do this install, check out http://visionsecurity.jp/en/ and send them an e-mail to order it. Feel free to PM me with questions about the install and tell them I sent you when you order one!

The only problem at the moment is that there is no multi-stage sensor input, so I can't use my old glass break sensor and will have to get one of their field sensors instead. I was also not able to use my DEI Blue Led on this unit, although I think they will know how to fix this, I'm just waiting on a reply to my e-mail.
