Problem with my Speakers???????

Install that was suppose to be for last week. Some notes taken from my e-mail to the audio place (Sound of Tristate), let me know what you guys think about the so-called problem.

I have a 2007 Civic Coupe.

I was scheduled for my install last friday and
saturday. I dropped off my sub saturday and when I
got home I got a call from Moe telling me that my
speakers will absolutely not fit and that I needed a
lot slimmer speakers to fit. He told me that I needed
under 2" speakers to fit in the door. So
I printed out a guide and took the door panel off
today, took out the speakers and put the 2.75" CDT
mids that were suppose to go in. They fit in
perfectly, leaving me more space than the stocks with
the spacer. I had the window down during installation
and it did not interfere at all like he said. I put
the door panel back on and it still fit into the door
easily. I have pictures to prove it. I wasted 3 trips to and from Sound of
Tristate (35 miles each away) with my older brother.

If you test-fitted them and everything is fine, I don't know what to tell you other than just screw them into the door and be done with it (assuming that's all you planned to do anyway). The only thing I can think of would be that the trim ring on the inside of the door panel got in the way and the installer didn't want to cut it for whatever reason, or that the outer diameter is simply too large which doesn't appear to be the case.

On another note, if you haven't considered it already, you should deaden those doors with at least 2 layers to get good bass response.
