New head unit trouble

I installed my new alpine cda 9857 and love it besides the fact that it is wayyy too loud. When I turn the volume to like 2 or 3 it is as loud as it was at like 20 on the stock head unit. Has anyone had this same problem and found a cure for it?

I wired everything the same way as the post on here (http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3534) siad to. I have all factory speakers and the factory amp. It seems to me like the speakers are being powered by the head unit and by the amp now.

There are a few things. If you have an amp, check to be sure its not turned all the way up. Check your settings in the head unit. Good luck figuring it out on an Alpine, they're all really different. Mine's a pain in the ass. Other than that, I am not sure. Your new HU is going to have a lot more power than the stock, but it shouldnt be loud on 2 or 3. Thats just insane. Mine typical volume was about 9 when I first got it. Then it got adjusted to about 14 or so. Don't really remember what fixed the problem exactly though.

I found it I had to bypass the factory amp, the speakers were being powered by the new head unit and the factory amp at the same time. Thanks alot for your help though. 2 Days wasted!!!!
