SIRUS - Stiletto S100 Car Kit install

I purchased the subject and I cannot seem to find a suitable location for the car kit base. I either find a great location but there is not enough flat surface to mount the base or not enough room to withdraw (slide) the unit in and out of the base or the pass seat hits the assembly when the seat slides all the way forward (2 door Civic).

Any thoughts?

Also, I don't want to mount the magnetic antenna to the trunk lid or to the roof. I figure having the antenna there would be a PITA for me to wash and wax around. So I though I could epoxy the antenna to the rear window just above the right rear corner near the trunk lid. Does the antenna have to be level? I read where someone placed the antenna under the dash - how is the reception? How does one remove all the plastic?

Thanks!

Erik

Mounting, I don't really have much to offer you. But antenna, I'd just double stick tape or velcro on the rear deck under the window. My last car (99 Audi A4) it was just stuck back there and it worked fine 95% of the time. I would never personally want an extra antenna installed externally, but that's just me being picky probably.

Well I am normally pretty good with coming up with creative places to mount/install things and make them look good but with that radio its gonna be hard to find a good spot. I opted for the stratus just because I could mount it in really cool locations and put in in the coin area on a custom bracket between the shifter and the cup holders. Worked out great and looks like it was there from the factory.

As far as the ant goes I will fill you in on a little secret. Open your hood and on the black cowl trim up by the window wiper you will see a little hidden door to access the VIN number. Slide that back and volla, instant invisiable ant mount and it doesn't affect reception.
