OK, So I need some honest opinions about Diamond Audio!!

Hey all,

I have grown tired of my stock stereo system and it's complete lack of bass. What does everyone think about Diamond Audio? I've never had a system with their stuff but honestly I've never heard a bad word about them. What about their subs, specifically? I have had many systems ranging from Ginormous to mild but in my older age I just want good clean sound and a sub that matches the mids and tweets, nothing crazy. I have done some research and the D3 subs appear to be very impressing. Thanks in advance for humoring me

Do it. They're among my personal faves. If I had a larger budget, I'd get another D3, but you should look into them.

Nice . Have you ever heard thier D6 stuff? It appears to be a pretty massive sub. Probably need a ton of power though. Thanks

they love power but if you can supply it, it's a great sounding sub! I love their D6 lineup of amps and subs.

Speakers don't just repetitively blow. Something was/is wrong with the system in the lexus.
More than likely it was a box parameter problem if switching only the speaker out stopped it.

JL is a good speaker as well

As far as Diamond Audio goes, I've made several pair of their subs sound great in several cars. I don't have much if any experience with their other eqpt. Quality product IMO

I love Diamond also, the newer D3 seps aren't what they used to be, but the D3 and even entry D1's do a killer job. And like most people said, the D6's get it on too

I don't like Diamond all that much. I'd much rather do a set of CDT Audio's (if we're talking about components, that is), or a comp set from Image Dynamics.

I've had JL in the past and like them also but I kind of like doing something a bit different than everybody else. I think from what I've heard from people is enough to make me want to try them out. There are a few dealers near where I live so I might just go give them a looksy and a listen.

I had Diamond M3 Components in a Mk3 Golf and it SUCKED!!! I powered it with a high end Alpine deck but it still wasn't enough power for these hungry speakers. You need to use a external amp with these but the setup comes with a hi-low crossover. It has the potential to be amazing but you need to spend some money.

There's so few of speakers that are capable of being run off a HU... so that's really not saying anything.

Yeah, I would definatley be using an amp for my components. I remember back in the day though (about 15years ago) my first system was a POS audiovox CD player and I ran two alpine 6 1/2" up front and then 2- 10" subs in truck boxes behind the seats! It was my first system ever and I thought I was the shizzz! My how things got more expensive when I started learning how things really worked. As far as right now though, I am just going with a sub and amp combo.

Definately. I tried that one time and one time only, and it was rediculous. Especially since it was 2 1000w dual voice coil digital audio 12's. Funny times.

Sorry, don't mean to threadjack, but I've never heard of diamond audio and I'm enjoying reading peoples opinions on it. :)

Diamond went with Gateway computers. They have and had great equipment. WAS a dealer. Still is a quality product however look at gateway computers and where they have gone.

JL Audio hands down in my humble opinion is the best out there. THey our a speaker company first! They have been putting tech. in just that for several years now.

Why does everyone out there compare their product to JL Audio? Only you can answer that.

If you're not getting the D6's, there's better out there for the money. And no, JL is not what I'm referring to at MRSP prices, at least.

Check out Stereo Integrity, Fi Car Audio, Digital Designs, and IDMax.
