Harman Industries has great products under their belt yes. Crown isn't what they used to be. Infinity and JBL used to be good 10 years ago as well but now are mediocre at best. Morel, great stuff! Levinson, great stuff! Recoton, junk...

Infinity still has some reputation left and sadly the best JBL stuff is just hard to come by. I don't know what Harmon is up to, but the old school Infinity and JBL was awesome stuff, and sadly just like Alpine, the quality seems to be dropping to keep up with product demands now that they are carried by a high-volume chain store like Best Buy. Same thing happened to Rockford. Makes me cry a little inside to be honest.

At least Rockford and Alpine realized their mistakes and tried again. Alpine a lot sooner than RF but still. This next model year of Alpine will be classic Alpine. QUALITY!!
Infinity and JBL have been dropping in quality little by little for years. Home or car audio. HK has just started to do it too. |

I have all HK home theater equipment. Love it!
HK head units come stock in many ferraris and other high end cars. What HK item are you looking at in particular?

I've installed a Drive and Play for IPOD aboard 06 Civic LX. Device is of excellent quality and functionally its very good. But after several re-wiring attempts by myself and a dedicated local installer, we have been unable to get the CD/Radio unit to recognize/select the unit using the CD/AUX button. In other words, everything works, just can't get the sound. We're using a Honda harness off the AUX plug in rear of the unit with 17 wires. Installer is doing bit of research and I'm sure we get it soon.
If you can get through the install, I'm sure you'll like the unit... nickelbed |
