I've been reading up on what is the best fuse to tap an amp on. What is the definitively best place to fuse an amp? I was thinking#35 (ACC Radio) but the fuse says 7.5 on it. Don't I need to tap a 15?
I just need to correct a wiring problem with my amp. Thanks. Nevermind, I see several people on the forum have been tapping #35 without any problems. I'll probably go with that one too. Last edited by NYDR27; 11-23-2008 at 07:18 PM. Reason: Added Info. |

Lights behind the radio, on the steering wheel, fog lights don't work, and the radio doesn't dim when the headlights are on. which fuse have I blown?
Speed-o/tach-o still dim with headlights, and headlights are in working order. UPDATE: I blew the small interior lights fuse. Fogs still out, but I think it's because the switch isn't reconnected...we'll see this weekend. Last edited by tomasro; 03-12-2009 at 03:22 AM. |

Need Some help
I installed my fog lights so that they turn on with my parking lights, regular lights and my highbeams. Everything works fine but I notice that when I started my car my airbag light was on. Did I blow a fuse on my airbag?? I dont understand what I did. If I did blow a fuse on my airbag what number fuse and what fuse to put in. Thanks |

My head unit seems to work just fine, but I get no sound from any of my speakers. I have a 06 Si coupe with the premium sound. I have checked the fuses under the hood and inside the car in the fuse panel. The head unit responds to inputs from both the steering wheel and the front of the unit itself, just no sound. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks |

This post, and a few of the replies, have been quite helpful. Thanks.
A few additions: There is a fuse puller and spare fuses for all amperages used in the Civic on the top inside lid of the underhood fuse box. There is some confusion about the size of the "mini fuses" in the interior fusebox. They are "super mini fuses", not to be confused with "mini fuses". However, the "mini fuses" which are commercially available at pretty much every auto parts store will work; they will just protrude a little bit. For tapping into the fusebox, a Littelfuse Add-A-Circuit is the best option, and while the unit is not available in a "super mini fuse" size, the standard "mini fuse" size will work fine. An easily accessible ground can be found adjacent to the interior fusebox, on the right side of it, slightly above it. Look for the dull silver slotted head bolt which partially retains the fusebox; it is bolted to a sub assembly which is grounded. I used the info in this thread and some trial and error to install an Icom VHF radio with no problems. |

I will actually PayPal someone some money who can help me with this...sigh
This is a great guide
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have a basic LED "scanner" strip. Has a red, black, and yellow wire. Here are the its directions: "If you have a car alarm: A1. Connect the red wire of the LED scanner to 12 volts constant positive. A2. Connect the black wire from the LED scanner to the negative when armed wire of the car alarm A3. Connect the yellow wire to 12 volts constant positive. OR If you do not have a car alarm: B1. . Connect the red wire of the LED scanner to 12 volts constant positive. B2. Connect the black wire from the LED scanner to constant negative B3. Connect the yellow wire to the ignition wire that shows 12 volts when the key is turned to the ON position. You're done. If you installed it with car alarm using step 1 above, then whenever you arm the alarm, the LED scanner will activate. If you installed it without a car alarm using step 2 above, then the LED scanner will activate when your car is parked and the key is in the off position." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whether I use Method 1 or Method 2, I don't care. I don't even know which method I'd use because I don't know if my keyless entry on my 2009 EX qualifies as an "alarm". With this information in mind, plus what you know from Civic-specific fuse knowledge, can you guys tell me exactly what to do, and which fuse/wiring locations to use? I've gone nuts going through countless DIYs and Googling, but cannot figure this one out. Thanks
