Remote wire for amp.

Amp/Sub Installation Guide (on factory HU)

I'm not sure where else you can connect the remote wire to, I don't think the HU has a remote out on the back. But you may be able to find more info elsewhere, sorry.

It's just a simple switch, on and off. Just make sure to turn it off before leaving the car, heh. Switch cost 2 or 3 dollars from Radio Shack.

So i was "following the tutorial" but i missed this part. A friend came and took out the 7.5amp radio fuse. Then he put a wire around the fuse and put it back. then he put the other end of the wire in the remote of the amp. It works.

I was wondering if more people have more and efficient method to do it. Then i reread the part that i missed in the diy and realize my friends method is more convenient.

Thanks.

I ended up doing that myself, just incase I forgot to switch it off when I left. I like the switch because sometimes I don't want my subs making sounds (bad neighborhoods for example).

I think it's probably the best way to do it if you're not switching the HU.

heres an idea people, use both. . . if you want it to turn off with the car AND the ability to switch it off manually, just do both, leave the switch to the ON position all the time so that the regular signal passes all the time, then when you want to cut them, flip the switch

I like the fuse method. It keeps your subs in check when your car's not on so you don't have to worry about battery drain.
