Wow, funny thing is I ordered the 3200 with color screen before I even saw this. I'm glad to see someone else has it as well! Is there any harnesses or other accessories needed to go with this?

I just got the 3200 model for Christmas and installed it a couple of days ago. I liked the location that you chose and decided to do the same. Here are some pictures of the end result.
I put both of the controls/brains of the unit in the console. blue one is what came with the parrot and the one on the left is part of the harness kit that comes from www.parrotkits.com. ![]() A closer picture of the harness controller, shown are the left and right channel volume controls that you can adjust so you aren't deafened. ![]() This is what it looks like when the car is off when I was finished installing. I put the mic just to the right of the head unit. I've made a few phone calls and people said I sounded good, one call was I-5 in downtown Seattle which is a very rough riding surface and the person said there was a little road noise but it wasn't distracting from me talking. ![]() Final picture is the car on, the device automatically picks up my phone when I start up the car. If you notice my climate controls weren't working because I had forgot to reconnect that connector, luckily it only took 10 minutes to pop off a couple panels and reconnect it. ![]() This project is something that my dad and I did and took about 3 hours but could of been done in about 1.5 to 2 hours if we knew exactly what we were gonna be doing from the get go. Especially with the harness it was very easy to do, I was pleasantly surprised. |

Just got my 3100 in. Civic Sedan/Navi...
I guess it will be easier next time ![]() My big glitch was somehow getting the mike wire into the sun visor clip hole, which ended up breaking the wire... talk about bad luck, spent a few hours trying to figure that out...finally works. I was amazed it downloaded all of my contact from my Blackjack. I mean all 400 some of them! I put the head unit in the foglight hole. Mike is above, in front of the sunroof control. Very tidy.... |

If u could repost the pics for the 3100 it would be great. They don't show. have been wanting to get the kit the only issue is I have my sirius sportster 4 in front of the shifter below where the 3200 the second pic was. good to hear the kits are worth it though.

OK first let me apologize for the time stamp. I had to take some pictures that required it and forgot to turn it off. I'm not editing it out of all of these pictures so deal with it.
![]() I've been putting this install off since Christmas (which is when I got this kit). I wanted to bump this thread with some pictures for all of those who may be interested. This is the 3100 black series. I opted not to deal with splicing resistors and mute wires and purchased the Parrot Kits plug and play adapter. There is no splicing, no cutting, and no soldering. Just plug it in and go. It includes a box so that you can adjust sound levels so that the downstream amp doesn't blow out your ear drums. I'm not going to do a detailed how to, but I wanted to show where I stashed the control boxes and give you some feedback. First, I don't know where else I'd put these. With the Parrot Kits install kit you have to deal with a second white box which allows you to make volume adjustments and also feed their wiring harness into the Parrot harness. Second, I'm getting some engine feedback through the speakers only when using the phone unit (as in the engine "whine" is only there when on the phone). It's faint, but noticeable. I'm going to try to shield some of the wires when I get a chance. None of this is all that difficult, but as with any electrical project doing it right is a PITA. Running wires just sucks, plain and simple. I take the time to do it right. You'll notice every connector, plug, box, etc. is wrapped in foam to avoid rattles. I keep wires zip tied together. I also added wire loom to protect from chaffing where the wires go by metal. It's the extra effort that takes time but I feel its worth it. So anyway, on with the pics. I didn't take a pic of the microphone but it is at the top of the driver side A pillar. I ran it over to the passenger side with the display cable (they are zip tied together under the dash. So far everyone says the sound quality is great with no feedback or echo. I put the control boxes on either side of the cabin air filer. The blue box on the right and the white box on the left. The smaller black box is zip tied to the support bar above the filter. They both fit fairly snugly so with the foam they shouldn't move or make any noise. Because the white box has volume adjustments I really wanted it to be accessible without removing the dash. Where it is now I can drop the glove box down and pull it out to adjust it. Backed out view: ![]() Close up on right side of the air filer: ![]() ![]() Small box tied up above the filter: ![]() Left side of the cabin filter (this is the white box and harness included with the Parrot Kits P&P adapter): ![]() The wiring harness has to be run this way to avoid interference with the glove box. ![]() Harness behind the stereo. Notice the loom and routing: ![]() This is where I mounted the display. I can see this from my seat just fine and with the audio prompts it's no problem to use. My center console area has a Scangauge and XM radio already so I didn't want to crowd it up more: ![]() Hope this helps some. PM me if you have any questions. |
