Navigation and Multiplex integrated control unit. k wire and Security wire?
I got a hold of a civic nav.
I'm trying to install it in a 2001 Accord. Same dash fits no prob. The issue is that I've gotten the wire codes and attempted to wire it up. But I have no signs of life. The only wires I haven't hooked up are the pins labeled k-wire and security which go to the multiplex integrated control unit and the vsp wire which goes to the ecu. I'm wondering if it is because of these wires that I have no juice. If so what do I give them for a connection. Since obviously the accord doesn't have this to work with. |

vsp would probably go to a speedo output or something related to the vehicle speed sensor for the speed sensitive volume control, im just guessing on that though.
security i want to say just needs a low level power input and there should be a wire from the accord that was for a security as well. i have no clue what the k is for, but i think not having the security hooked up would be the killer. i dont really know for sure this is just intuition. |

took a cruise throught the manual and there wasn't anything obvious as to what the k and security wires actually do.
VSP is for the Vehicle Speed Pulse. Check your connections as you should be able to power up the unit at least without any problems. I saw on another thread where someone had their navi hooked up and running off the 12v power from a PC. |
