Alright so i've been browsing around the forums to try to find the answer to my question but it seems like theres a lot of misconception when it comes to this topic.
I'm wanting to install my TWO Infinity Perfect 10.1 Subs Problems i've read about that concern me: Dimming of lights/Dash Etc in car. Insane rattling of back winshield, trunk bending/cracking Battery getting drain Alternator being drained... With a clean install...by professionals...should I worry? I really want my system installed but not if im going to have a lot of problems with things falling apart or dying on me costing me more money!! |

silversedan, you caught me at a period were i got lots of free time, let me explain. First of all those are nice subs. As far as battery goes i have good news for you ,those subs take up to 350rms. That means that with 2 youre not gona be running a LOT of power, youre only gona need 600rms. That is exactly how much im gona run(as soon as brahma and empyre components come out!). The reason i choose 600 watts to my sub is because its a high amount of power but not high enough were im gona have problems. When you start going over the 1,000 watts on the civic(90amp alternator) then youre gona need to think about upgrades. But with 600 youre car will be fine, you will get minor dimming, minor voltage drops, minor enconviniences peridod. Now , i am gona upgrade the big 3, get a yellow top, and probably a cap after that. You dont NEED to do this, but i want the best possible electrical system without needing a HO alternator. As far as rattling, well you have to work on it, first thing youre gona want to do is sound deaden the TOP of the trunk . Put a good 2 layers in there and then the best thing to do is to buy the trunk cover kit to cover http://collegehillshonda.com/civicse...6_interior.htm, and add a bit of extra help against vibrations. Then what is probably gona rattle also is the rear deck cover. What youre gona want to do is add full layer of sound deadning on the bottom of the rear deck cover, to make it heavier, and so you wont get the bare plastic hitting the sheet metal of the car. You can also take off the rear speakers, or stock sub, so that the air pressure being caught between the rear deck/ rear deck panel can run smoothly into the cabin. So with 600 rms off a mono amp youre fine, and as far as rattling you can take care of that. Here is the thread i made about redoing my entire system, i didnt get to work on it this week but i will work on it tommrow, and update it . Check out what i do , feel free to post question as i complete more work. COMPLETE system project on 06 civic-56k Go grab a Snickers
