Metra kit vs. OEM kit

I just installed my Alpine IVA-W200 w/ the metra kit and just have a quick question.

Does anyone know if the angle in which the display sits is any different from the metra kit vs. OEM kit? Better positive angle on OEM?

Other then that I happy with the kit .... I realize the colour is ever so slightly off .... but I planning on colouring the kit and the trim around the steering wheel a gloss black anyways?

Thanks,

Adam

in mine w/ the 200 i used the OEM, not that great of an angle. if the metra is any diffrent ide be surprised. tint helped it out alot because the glare was the worst part.

Metra sits a bit further back, but the build quality of the one i got was terrible. clearance issues, weak support brackets.

Airwolf - any chance you installed it with your steering wheel controls. Just curious to see if you used a Pac Switch or if you were able to use Alpine steering wheel interface.

I just finished installing the Z1 yesterday on my 06 Civic Sedan.... Ditto on the Metra..... Bad fit, weak support, and clearance issues on the back.... really sucks.... The harness was great, prewired on the bench with the flasher circuit from DucatiBoy at Avic411. Works very well.

I am going to have to get the OEM kit, the Metra one plain sucks.

i just replaced the &$^% Metra kit with the OEM one.... NO COMPARISON..... The OEM fits, the finish is right-on, the brackets are metal and re-use the screws that you use to fasten the unit to the frame..... The HU sits further up in front, and no clearance issues for the back of the HU. And the AC knobs fit, and move freely like the other OEM piece.

Metra sucks.

I have the IVA-W200 in my 06 Civic EX and my trim ring does not fit inside the OEM Navi opening. How do you get it to fit with having to cut it?
