I placed my V1 in the middle of the windshield (best area for viewing), and ran the wire directly into the dash. Hooked the power wire into the radio accessory wire and grounded it to the dash frame:

I made the mistake of using a t-clamp so occasionally when I hit a nasty bump or pothole, the V1 turns off then on again (very annoying). When I redo all my wiring, I'm gonna solder and heat shrink it and every other connection.

Top of windshield for 'stealth'? I'll gladly pay a ticket to any cop that can see that little "c" from a mile back, lol :P True, it lights up like a Christmas tree when he hits you, but if you're really worried about him seeing you with a radar detector then you just push the quick release and pull out the plug -- wallah -- no radar detector (I see it as being much easier to remove from the middle than the top of the windshield).

well...I got pulled over last night for driving with one headlight out and the CHP didn't see the V1 at all. He bent down and couldn't even see it...mounted up top to the left of my mirror.

I have mine right on the drivers side below the headliner so it does not block the radar I hardwired along the passenger side and plugged it into the cig lighter. All wires are hidden and never had a problem.
