Wires / Cables

Where did you get yours, what brand(s) did you use?

thanx... I personally believe that wires play almost as important a role as the other components but at the same time don't buy into the belief that you must pay top dollar for great quality

How many feet of power wire do you need to run to the trunk, and same for RCA's from the deck to trunk

I just did an install and used knukonceptz. I couldn't be happier with the quality and flexibility of the wire. For the price I think it is your best bet. I think the power wire in my kit was 17ft and I ended up cutting off at least a couple

Well the RCA plays a large role and I would want to be quality. But otherwise wire is wire. As long as you have a decent size guage wire should all be the same. The (super fab copper plated ultra core blah blah so on) most companies advertise for their wires make minimal difference. This is just my opinion though. Honestly get some good RCA's so the signal isnt lost get some cheaper wire and spend the extra on a good amount of sound deadening. Good Luck

Thanx guys... do you use the speaker wire that Honda runs or do you run your own?

Would someone please give me a complete run down of what wires and lengths (approx of course) I would need to install:

Pioneer DEH-P700BT / DEHP700
JL Audio Slash v2 300/4v2 75W x 4 Car Amplifier
JL Audio Slash v2 500/1v2 500 watts RMS x 1 Car Amplifier
Focal 165 CA1
Focal 165 A1
JL Audio 10W6v2 in a civic stealth box or possibly a custom fiberglass solution as created by a very talented member of these forums.

I am going to buy all the components piece by piece as I have money and then install all at once...

Copper is expensive these days, though, so beware of flea-market brands who overrate the gauge.

matok,

My $0.02: lose the rear speakers if you haven't already bought them.

If you're dead set on the 10W6, I'd just get the Stealthbox for simplicity. I wanted a 12 with higher sensitivity though, so I commissioned our friend.

I haven't bought anything yet... I'm not brave enough to do the install myself and have found that it's gonna cost me around $500 just for that.

I haven't bought anything... I think Bikini also mentioned in the past that rears aren't necessary...

My thing is that I want a clean balanced sound and as far as price goes (Toronto, Canada) this seems to be it...

If I don't put speakers on the rear deck I can upgrade to a Focal 165 V1 Polyglass 6-1/2 Component Set instead...

I'm sorry, I just know that JL has an excellent reputation and have heard W6s before... What does higher sensitivity mean?

I listen to mostly 90's HipHop and my wife listens to Electronic House like DJ Tiesto (YouTube - Dj tiesto power mix)

Basically, sensitivity is how loud it will get per watt of power. W6's are awesome. I just happen to only have 250w on tap, so it wouldn't work for me. Kinda pricey, too, but you can't go wrong.

Exactly what I was thinking.. what about the amps? Good choices??

Also, I would get MB Quarts but I can't find them anywhere... from what I understand Focal has taken over that market, @least in Canada

Can't go wrong with JL, IMO. I'm running a 500/5.

If you wanted to poke around the audio sites, you can find other brands that have arguably comparable/better performance for the $, but getting something that makes you happy is more important than anything.

Focal >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MB Quart from what I've read, but I can't say I've auditioned them.
