my first ever car was a 93 civic si coupe and have been victimized a few times with people who would trip the alarm, pop my trunk, steal its contents, then run. i figure if i disengage the trunk release, itd make things a little more difficult if they cant use the lever to pop the trunk. im going to add a sub/box as well so even more difficult to get into my trunk if they decide to get in there via the rear seats.

unfortunaly my friend, that doesn't work!!!!!!!!!, like 2 months ago someone broke into my car, they poped the hood, cut the batery wires o cables, so they could turn off the alarm and then the pulled the driver window to open the door, they didn't break it thanks god!!!!!!! so anyway i had the trunk locked!!!!!!!!!!! but they still got it open, they took the amps, and the sub's that i had in the trunk.they were PROS let me tell you that. even the alarms don't stop them? . My apologies for my grammar but i'm still learning
total of the lost $1200. i learned my lesson. |

that sucks dude.. im in familiar territory. same thing happened with me.. learnt my lesson and its why my alarm has to have a backup battery with extra siren and why im wanting to disengage the trunk lever to try to prevent that happening again.. with my hockey gear, paddling gear, misc stuff.. its over $2000 worth of stuff thats not insurable if it gets stolen.

what you could do is cut the wire that is connected to the lever and you just going to open it with the key from the outside, if they want to get whatever you have in the trunk they would have to take off the seats. that's something that they will not have time for. I took my car to the shop and i got sensor's in the hood and trunk, so if they want to open it the alarm will go off. we tested it so many times to make sure that is gonna work and it does.
