Amp preference?

Let the laughing begin....

Alright, so I'm a relative newb/intermediate when it comes to car audio. I love the way an aftermarket amp/sub setup fills out the music without being too bass-heavy. I've owned my amp (Jensen 300W...... I'll wait a bit until the laughter dies down.......... perhaps a bit more............... I think that's good) for about 10 years now. I know that my amp SUCKS, but it has a bit of sentimental value to me as it was the first (and only) amp I've ever purchased, and it probably should have died long ago. But at the same time, it sounds like s**t. Sure, it powers my 10" Rockford sub alright (actually, I would still own the original 10" Pioneer bandpass sub I bought with the Jensen amp as well, if it didn't get stolen), but it's definitely not as clean as my girlfriends MTX amp/sub combo. I'm thinking about buying a new amp when I get my new Si to clean up my sub a bit, and I'm hittin' all of YOU up for your preference of amp. What's the cleanest? Best value for the price? and whatever else you can think of. Remember, I'm not looking for any kind of competition-type amp, nor anything that will crush my car and every car surrounding me. I'm just looking for something to give me a decent bump in my Si, something that will vibrate my rearview mirror convincingly. Any suggestions?

I prefer the JL Slash series amplifiers.

if you can afford it, the JL slash. They're power output is the same whether you have 14.4v or 11v going in, and impedence between 1.5-4 ohms. I'm sure there is better for your money, but like I said, if you can afford it, that's one of the top amps. Noone will argue that.
