I would be VERY shocked it Hondata does anything with the R18 to be honest with you.

Why oh why for the love of god. Why not lower the Vtech rpm for the R18 too? Give it alittle more of a kick. Plus what is that costing 15 to 20hp increase?

The R18 just isnt as desirable as the K20Z3...Hondata really only works on cars that have lots of potential.
VTEC on the R18 is very different than on the K20Z3...doubt lowering the crossover on the R18 would net very many horses for us.
What is it costing? You mean how much does the upgrade cost? It says right on the page.

Reading more about it, it seems as though the tune is still very rough. They havent even touched the DBW yet either. If I had an Si, I would seriously consider waiting for them to do an update with the program. The dyno plot doesnt look that fantastic either yet...I know Hondata will make it much better with time. But hey, not a bad start at all.

excellent news on that. I'll know by tomorrow if we can offer the reflash through the site.

Hondata has no plans for the R18 as they don't believe a reflash would net much if any hp gains. I asked them myself.

Pretty much exactly what I was saying.
This is pretty standard though with them. Its understandable...the R18 is made for gas mileage...not power.

I knew there was a reason I liked you Nice job

NOTE (and it's a biggy):

It is not designed to work with a stock 06 Civic Si and will lose power between 4500rpm and 5600 rpm if installed. The 06 Civic employs a mass air flow sensor that automatically adjusts the air-fuel ratio for increases in air flow from intakes and race headers. Race headers will not cause this engine to run lean.

The K20Z3-06Si reflash lowers the VTEC point to 4500 rpm, advances the cam angle and raises the rev limit to 8500 rpm.

This one reflash will work well with a variety of aftermarket performance parts. It will work well with:

An intake
A race header
A combination of intake and race header
Catbacks (as long as they are less restrictive than stock)

The VTEC switch point on this reflash is very smooth - much smoother than previous reflashes. With a stock airbox and race header the switch point is virtually undetectable. For the reduction in VTEC "kick" and aural stimulation, we apologize, but this is the path to maximum power.

Power is gained in the midrange from 4700rpm to 6300 rpm. Power gains above 6500 rpm are negligible, although the higher rev limit will raise average power a little.

As this reflash will work with a combination of aftermarket parts we have two examples of the effect of the same reflash on two 06 Civics. (Both Civics dynoed at about 195 stock HP)

so folks, don't just go spend the money on it if you don't have other mods as well...it's not intended for the stock car. Just wanted to add that because I know somebody will buy without researching it...

if they can't figure that out and don't research before they blow 600 bones, they deserve the power decrease

I'd like to wait for the Comptech race header....but who knows when that will be. Has anyone tried anything other than the DC race header?

This is the only thing holding me back

....maybe I should just wait for the Comptech header and maybe K-Pro will be out by then.

I went to their site and I saw that they made reflash for the 1.6 liter, so why not ours. And I have seen some monster 1.6, so again I dont see why it cant be done with the R18. Power of dreams.
