What does the CR models have that the regular one doesn't. My Dad just got an 07 S2k, the sales guy couldn't tell us anything about the 2008's

New wheels. Aerodynamic spoiler, and front end. Weight reduction (no soft top, no motor), larger roll bar, same engine = 2 seconds faster at the Honda test track.

I'd hit it. Twice. Like the Death Star hitting Alderaan.

FYI, HP isn't everything if it can't use it. That's why 911's are such good cars. It uses all the power it has available, instead of stupidly spinning it away because it has too much.

And the Pontenza RE050's. I think you're now just being pedantic. But, you're right. I thought the hard top was extra???? If it isn't, then it's a very good deal!

Base S2k Club Racer has no A/C. It's (I believe) the only real option on the CR.

You think 34K is overpriced? In Canada the 2007 S2000 model sells for $50000 + $1540 freight and PDI + $7500 tax. That's almost 60K for a brand new base S2000.

Even when the CND Dollar was 65 Cents US it was still a lot, but imagine how we feel now that the CND Dollar is actually stronger than the US Dollar.

I come to realize that the S and the Z is a drivers race in a straight line. But I know the newer Z's received a power bump so it may be a different story. Hands down on the track the S will eat up the Z though any day

That's a bold statement to make. I think the S and the Z are very different cars and I don't think the S would walk away on the track....

It depends on which track we are talking about. Race track = Z is owned, drag strip would be close.

Curious here. Are there any data to back such statments? I'm interested to see real track times for both, professional drivers, of course.

edit -- I did a little googling because this argument really interested me. I found this:

350z vs s2000

Granted, there is no info provided. We don't know if these cars were run on the same tires, factory tires, or what. We don't know anything, unless possibly you speak Japanese. If, however, both of these drivers are pros, and the cars are running the same rubber, it shows a very interesting comparison! Even if it's factory rubber, the result is more of what I expected.
