edit -- I did a little googling because this argument really interested me. I found this:

350z vs s2000

Granted, there is no info provided. We don't know if these cars were run on the same tires, factory tires, or what. We don't know anything, unless possibly you speak Japanese. If, however, both of these drivers are pros, and the cars are running the same rubber, it shows a very interesting comparison! Even if it's factory rubber, the result is more of what I expected.
Great video comparison, the S2000 is so torqueless:) That Z just ripped right by him like he was standing still Curious to see what year and power that Z is putting down. Looks like a newer version, dont they have close to 300hp? Thanks for the link!!

yeah the z's have 300hp. the 350z has a power advantage over the s2k... s2k 237hp vs. 350z 300hp. so for a 70hp difference the outcome wasnt too bad for the sk2

Anyone who pays 4k for a OEM hardtop is crazy. I bought my Mugen top for less than that. But then again you did say installed. The dealer will rip you a new on install. Install is a very easy job that can be done by yourself. You can find deals on the
hardtops for at least $2900, I have seen less as well but depends on color.

Yes, I would think the outcome would have been worse if the driver in the Z wasn't pacing the S for so long. It was as if he was just letting the S stay in front until he felt like blowing past. hahaha
