hmm looks okay but one look at the wing and i would have probably signed the petition its hideous. the last thing they need is to make a beautiful car riced out. where are the performance mods? suspension mods are good but no engine work? thats weak!

I'd sign the petition. Here I was waiting to see what the new s2k would look like, (out of interest for purchase) but I was totally let down.
Those seats are disgusting. No leather? PSsh. The wing is disgusting, and the only changes were exterior, and stiffening it up (easily done) It's a cheap ass way for Honda to try to make more money by making you think your getting more. I can't wait to find out how much they intend to charge for it.
I'd buy an older s2k over that ANYDAY.

yea but this s2k is just like the mugen si sedan in my eyes. i like them both because of the upgrades offered from the factory. the car is made for racing so the exterior stuff is there for a purpose. cr stands for club racer so this car is made to race. basically buying this s2k makes you 1 up on the competition because you already have great downforce and the high reving motor, even stock is still awesome on the track. i say make it. if i buy it ill replace the front lip with a nice carbonfiber one

You can make an S2K handle and perform EXACTLY like this car (better at that) for much less than Honda intends to charge, I gaurentee it. You are getting ripped off, you can buy an 06 SI and get more superior aftermarket parts for a hell of a lot cheaper....enabling it to perform MUCH BETTER than this factory-modified piece of crap...

Bottom line:

CR = Waste of Money

iono. i am not digging it. a G35 or G37 will eaaaat an S2000. Even a 3.5V6 Altima coupe will own it. I would have liked to see a turbo on that 2.2 4 banger. How often will you take this car to a track anyway. Id still take my 06 Si as a daily car.

Its nice to hear your opinion, as we are stating ours. Its a good platform....but you can get one year older (06-07) for a cheaper price and it will do the same thing...

I LOVE the S2000, but the CR is a serious let down. I would not buy that. I'd rather a '04-'06

Also, what motor is in the 2000-2003 S2K's??? I know those years were 2.0L motors. Was it a F20?

Here are a few close-ups that I took of the S2000 CR at the auto show.
The car is even less impressive in person. I know that aesthetics is a matter of taste, but it looks like most manufacturers put more creativity and effort in to their redesigns. Honda took the easy way out and just added a few "race inspired" touches here and there.

You may not like the wing, but it's actually a functional wing. Makes it a little sweeter to me.

Ugh... that's disgusting, not to mention a huge letdown. The wing and the pseudo-canards up front don't fit with the car AT ALL... you might as well put on some ground lights while you're at it. Those parts are a slap in the face to the understated beauty of the 04-06s.
Maybe instead of CR, they should go with PDMP... Poorly Disguised Marketing Ploy.

It basically looks the same, but with just enough alteration to look awesome!

alright as Richardhammond put it...

its no longer a car its an engineer play thing. Honda please step away from the S2000 and move on to something else!

yes I know he said NSX R but the s2k is done....Step away Honda move on to something else I repeat myself...

Anybody actually thinks that car is a redesighn worthy of a club racer name is a ricer...my god they didnt even upgrade the darn brakes. As for the functional wing at what speed? hmm functional as the atena on the NSX R that goes down slightly bahaha give me a break..
