Aggreed. I'll be waiting for the 10th. But by then they'll all be hybrids. Lol

I work for Ford, used to work for Honda. One of my buddies that works at the Honda Dealer said that the k24 in there is straight outa the accord-supposedly. I'd assume the little more aggressive TSX variety with a different PCM. So pretty much your gonna have people with 9th gens wanting high comp pistons and 8th gen heads(to run the wiring and can/multiplex). This is like GSR with B16 head and higher comp pistons ALL OVER AGAIN!

Oh and when in the History of Honda bringing vehicles to the U.S. did you think that HONDA was NOT, all about the Hippie Green B.S. ?
We have always gotten the shaft on its drivetrain selection. It's only been about the FWD Rigid chasis and suspension.

And if you wanna make the argument about them getting heavier, everyone elses has too, due to safety and mandates.

I think Honda totally killed what the Si had going for it. In my experience no Si has ever received the attention and rep that the 8th has, and the 9 is definitely a letdown to me. The interior surely has a nice new touch, but the exterior is just horrible as well as the performance "upgrade." I really don't understand how Honda can let the competition "get ahead" this round by not going for higher performance with a factory turbo or at least a bit more horsepower into the 250 range. I feel the 9th will flop horribly in sales. At the moment, I'd take a Genesis coupe hands down over the new 9th Si, and Scion's new FR-S is looking like sick competition. My plans for the future are to pay off my 08 (I owe $8,100) and hold onto it until I can afford either a 370Z or Supra (my dream car).

i like the new si. i think the opening in the front bumper looks good and aggressive. i like the lines in the body. of course if you lower it and throw rims on it, it will look better. the torque is a plus. my 8th gen 07 is paid off so no new si for me. i will test drive it and let you know how it feels. give it a chance with some mods and you people will be thinking differently. a few mods and that thing will be a beast. honda powers my dreams

Is it just me or does the non si shift "boot" look like the "space ball" shift "boot" from the Volvo S60R? The royally screwed the pooch with the 9th gen.

I was saving to buy a new Civic either SI or EX to replace my 92 Accord and I was expecting the new 2012 to be even nicer than the 8th. generation after 6 years of designing the new Civic they came up with the ugliest Civic ever seen.

The rear looks like a Dodge Neon, the side mirrors are almost in the middle of the doors and the front side small square windows are worse too.

I am sure Honda won't sell many 2012s and will have to re-design it in no more than 2 years after losing millions on sales and complaints.

What were they thinking when they designed this car?

Why are they letting other small cars look much nicer on the outside?

It time to start copying from other cars companies with nicer and sportier car bodies.

It's not terrible, not really anything special though either. I think it will grow on me but I don't at all regret buying my 2011.
