Alright i'm new to 8thgen, i just got an 06 si in arrest me red back in august after selling my trusty ep3 and i'm going to start modding it in the spring, the regular exhaust header and intake plus a tune set up nothing crazy. My question is do i go catless or stay catted. i want the car to be able to run right and not blow its self up .i have read in the past going catless can make a car run like crap but i have also read that the si can handle running with out a cat when properly tuned.so what should i do i know some negitives of running catless but i cant seem to find if running catless will hurt the motor and make the car drive like crap.

i live in rhode island and they go by a check engine light and read the code but the cops due take notice buddy of mine forester had uel header and a straight pipe with no cat and got pulled over and had to put the cat back in it so it could get re inspected. Thanks for answering my question i was just worried even with a tune i could damage the engine either from the lack of back pressure or just from running weird. i am planning to do skunk 2 alpha header with a full race 3in exhaust, i like the sound the fullrace and it suppose to be quieter than the skunk exhaust.:badger:

As others have said whether or not you go catless depends on your local emissions testing, if you have inspection, and if you plan on tuning the car. You can run catless without flashpro, but to get the most of your mods you would really want it as Overdose said.

Whichever you decide to go with, we have plenty of options available for the 8th gen civic. We have our XLR8 test pipe and high flow cat available at great pricing and can also get you a variety of different headers depending on what your looking for.
