Meh.
I agree with him because he accomplished his goal.

I have a shorty header+HFC setup and I hate it because although there were gains, there could be so much more. I'm getting a Race Header no cat very soon. Most likely Skunk2!

Just respecting what someone did, that's all.

I just saw this thread. I had the same setup as OP plus cat. I actually contacted BERK to start making HFC for our cars. I was gonna buy RT cat but it had 2" outlet I believe. It looks much smaller than BERK. It has 3" hfc and about 2.9" piping all the way through. Outlet does merge to 2.5" at the end. Nice piece. I had it paired with CT shorty on my car for 1.5 years maybe. Car is SCed and I had zero issues with hfc melting, clogging, etc.

Anyway, I finally decided to get Kiddracing header and paired it with 2.5" hfc. Also, I swapped TSX TB to 3.7 TL TB and changed 2.5" CT exhaust to 2.75" Q300. Anyway, I was hoping for some gains and went to local dyno shop. Car was tuned before and after as well. Long story short, I was a little disappointed. Car lost some midrange hp and tq compare to my shorty+Berk hfc setup.

Now I am confused, lol. Its not 1-2 hp, you can see a little more significant drop. Car run about 0.5 psi more then before as well. For the past 2 days I read quite a bit about header designs and all. Its a pretty crazy science. I just thought I will post it here... just some food for thoughts. Its SC... NA motor is the whole different animal and I dont think this grapg can be used.

I am planing to put my CT+Berk back. I also want to open up hfc to 2.75" to match my exhaust. Its not much but might as well. I may take it back to the dyno again since I am not sure if it was a mistake or something. Thought I'll share it here as well since I already posted it in one of sc threads.

That's pretty crazy stuff right there. Whether you're SC'd or not, that's pretty interesting info. Can I ask if these numbers are STD or SAE corrected?

What kind of cat are you running on the Kidd Racing setup?

Are you sure your BERK HFC is 2.5 at the outlet? Mine is 2.75 at the outlet.

I believe these numbers are STD corrected. Its local dyno for mostly mustang guys. It reads a tad lower. I am not too much after numbers but i like to see how diffrent parts affect your power curve. Damm, I need to re-measure my outlet. If its 2.75, its gonna be awesome. I measured quick at Berk shop so it might be wrong. I run 2.5" with krrh... same sell count.

^ Most likely standard numbers, which would mean the air temp would make a difference in the numbers. How close were the air temps on each day? Either way, hot day and cold day wouldn't make that big of a difference, just saying.

I just double check my BERK pipe, it's 2.75" on the outlet. (Sorry for the camera phone pic)

I checked other graphs last night. It was STP (STD) correction. I wrote temp on my previous graps as well. I believe, previous run was made at 10F higher temperature. I can find exact number. Anyway, I think if its corrcted, temp shouldnt matter. I also checked outlet diameter and its 2.5". Thats wierd, maybe they increased it. Mine was just a test version...

Short answer is that the flow will suck in comparison. Running a shorty header and a test pipe instead of a proper longtube header is, frankly, stupid and pointless.
