Angry Do Not Buy/service At Ed Voyles Honda

Do not buy or service your car at Ed Voyles Honda in Marietta, GA. I will add this to Dealer Rants and Raves but wanted the locals to have a heads up.

I brought my 08’ SI in to have my right rear strut looked into since every time I would come to a complete stop or slowly pull off it would make a popping noise. So I set up an appt. and took a half day off of work. I showed up and David the horrible service mgr. said wow I can’t believe they scheduled you today; are you leaving the car with us? I was like noooo it’s my only car and I scheduled an appt. for today. He said well were highly slammed and will not be able to look at it. They also suggested that I take it to Gwinnett Honda because they would be able to look at it. I said hugh so how long would it take to troubleshoot a popping noise (Which by the way 2 or 3 people have already had their right rear shock replaced under warranty on the 08) He said it would take several hours for them to pinpoint the issue. I was like wtf? I said if the car wasn’t under warranty I would fix this myself! LoL then he said well they have to figure what part it is. I said well this is a joke; you guys double book appt. and no you don’t have the time to even look at it after I wasted a half day of vacation as well as driving an hour to the dealer. He said I don’t what to tell you. Steven the awesome Lead technician there said give me 30 minutes. I was like wow he must feel bad that the mgr is such a prick and he knows it’s an easy fix. So after 5 different people drove my car (No lie) they get it into the shop. He looks at it tightens/re-torques the shock. It’s still having issues at this point. He said let me get that shock replaced; I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. So a week and a half passes by and nothing. Finally, I call them and they give the whole aww we were about to call you; your part should be in today. I was like wtf that’s funny the day I just happen to call LMAO. So my wife took off of work today to bring it in and called them earlier and stated that we needed to get the shock fixed and also needed to get the rivnuts in for the cargo net. (They require the special Honda tool “The HexRivnut Tool” she said the entire install is complete except for the two little silver barrels that need to be popped in. (Like a 5 min job) they said no problem. She also asks them about how long will it take for all of it; and they state 3-4 hours. (I was crying for the wife knowing she was going to sit there and wait 3-4 hours for them due to double booking for a 45min right rear shock replacement) They stated well it will take some time to install that shock then they have to test drive it. She said so all of that will take 3-4 hours and they were yep if not more LMAO. So everything is completed and she pops the trunk to look at the cargo net install and nothing has been done. So they have a technician come over and he ask my wife how do they put them in. She called me up and I walked them through it. They said hold on and we will see who can knock this out for you. I was like cool!!! And they get back on the phone and say man… the accessory tech just looked at this and said it will take an hour and we will need to setup a another appt. because they are slammed. My wife said an hour of waiting or hour to install. They said an hour to install. LMAO someone is ripping people on service time. So after he argues with my wife about how slammed he is and that David isn’t his boss and the fact he is over worked and we need to set up another appt. She said how long does this really take like 5 min per my husband; he said around that… She was like wtf? She told the guy we would never buy a new car or bring our car to them for any servicing in the future.

Gotta love horrible Honda Dealers. They rate right there with Woodstock Honda who told me over the phone one price and then another when I showed up. =CRAP
Also, to top it all off. My car is fifthly right now especially the wheels and my rims have no finger prints on them at all; which leads me to believe that my shock may have not been replaced at all… (Will update when I get to drive it)

Never again…

The only thing this place has going for them is Richard Wade (Internet Sales) and Steven (The S2k/Si tech) undoubted he is the only one that is qualified to work on them and has a true passion for cars and fixing them)

All of the other people:
Richard the mgr. of George (The install tech)
David the service advisor mgr.

Aren’t worth the time/money to be crapped on.

If anyone else knows of a Honda dealer in GA that rocks or is better then the comp; please let me know.

Also, I would like to comment on Ed Voyles Acura also… My wife just bought a brand new 08 TSX and the experience has been awesome; so has her first service of getting a chrome strip replaced on the driver door (Scratched on delivery) took care of her no questions asked on the day she drove by. (Completely different attitudes unlike their sister Honda Dealer.

I typed this fast and don’t feel like editing for grammar = P Please excuse the mess…

Cliffnotes:
Ed Voyles Honda Overbooked

Ed Voyles Honda sets up imaginary apts.

Ed Voyles Honda lets 5 techs/service people monkey/drive my car; looked like a taxi for around 15 minutes (Even after they hear the issue by me rocking the back of the car)

Ed Voyles Honda tells me to take it to another dealer (Gwinnett Honda)

Ed Voyles lies about warranty repair & turn around time.

Ed Voyles likes to argue about putting in a 5 minute part.

Ed Voyles wants to make 1 hour paid install apt. for a 5 minute part.

Thanks,
Stephen

Also, previously...

Don't take it to Ed Voyles Honda. The service mgr. said that Honda hasn't released the TSB publicly and they have yet to receive anything from Honda (As of Friday) I told him about the TSB on here and he said if it's from Honda and it's real then it was let out before the release. They said however they are aware of the 3rd gear problem and try to fix all of them that are under warranty.

He said we are the dealer not the internet making up stuff and we don't have it.

I told him I would print it out for him when my right rear shock replacement comes in; he said you do that. LMAO WTF... LOL

omg id rather kill myself... getting those bushings in/out was a bitch!!!

id argue, bc the SS has nothing to do with the issue at hand seeing as how honda saw it fit to release the TSB since soooo many stock SI's were having the problem

yeah i highly doubt they'll touch your car because they don't like messing with the cars that have been modded a lot

they're afraid to touch robert's mugen gp's..anything having to do with taking them off robert has to get permission from my dad (which anyone else would not be allowed) and he removes them himself

and only the shop floorman touches his car, the others aren't allowed

that makes sense. They are worried about breaking something and becoming possibly liable for replacing something non standard....at least that's what it sounds like to me

ya but no dealer is "allowed" to refuse you service because of modifications you have made to your car, unless they can provide, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it was that very modification that cause said part to malfunction.

they will not risk having to pay out of pocket for an item that they can not replace at the shop. they have the right to refuse to work on ANYONE's car.

call mike and ask him

Made a phone call to them:

Their honda dealership is independently owned and run..they have the right to decline anyone service regardless.

because you are turbo'd you are no longer under warranty

so they can decline you regardless
