I hoped it wouldnt happen, but it did...

I was driving a friend back to University of MD CP on rt 1 when i saw someone throw something out of their car. I swerved to miss it but heard the thud of it hitting my car. Dropped my friend off and checked the car, i thought i had hit it with the tire and would be fine, nope, it smashed into the bumper on the passenger side, popped it out at the top corner by the headlight and deformed the whole lower grill. Im so pissed off words cant describe right now. Unfortunately i didnt get the license plate of the car so repairs are going to be on my insurance or out of pocket. Il get some pics up tomorrow when its light out.

did you see what they threw out of their car?
damn... people are so stupid. littering is a crime. being ignorant should be punishable with jail time. too bad you didn't get the license plate. maybe you should file a police report... just to have an official record of what happened. good luck with the repairs. hopefully it won't cost too much.

Anyway, hope it works out for you!

I went out to the car this morning hoping it hadn't really happened, but it was still there, I was planing on doing a full detail today too. Theres no remnants of whatever it was, I would think that even a bottle would have burst, but its completely clean, just pushed in.

Its looking like its going to come out less than my deductable ($500) so i get to pay this out of pocket. Im also filing a police report with the local cops there but thats just for the paper trail, they cant and wont do anything about it.

I just had my wife's rear bumper replaced. she backed into a boulder. Rear right side damged a little larger the yours. The total bill (replace and paint) was 1300.00. Minus my 400 deductible, insurance covered 900. I checked prior if it would affect my rates...and they said no.

Looks like you hit an animal. What could someone throw out of their car to cause that kind of damage?

i have no idea what it was, theres no remains of whatever it was on the car. no scratches, paint transfers or anything, just the pushed in bumper.

hondadriver, wow, i cant believe a professional driver would hit and run someone. how much did it cost you go get it fixed?

the front windshield on our cars is a huge piece of glass so 500 makes sense.
thats the first thing anyone says when getting in, "damn that winshield is huge"

the cars also making a scraping noise, but only when i start moving from a stop and just for a short time. the wheel wells are clear and everything i can see looks fine, anyone have any thoughts as to whats wrong?
