Insurance prices. which car would be cheaper?

Ok so i'll cut to the chase. I'm 20 and have a perfect driving record. I will be choosing one of the following:

-2006 Honda Civic SI

-2006 Honda Civic EX coupe

-2006 Honda Accord EX coupe

my logic tells me that the SI would be the most expensive to insure. I also have a feeling that the accord would be cheaper to insure than the civic.
Does anyone know which is cheapest to insure and why? thanks

my guess

cheapest - accord

middle - civic EX

highest - civic SI

go for the Si though, you wont be disapointed

I actually went to esurance.com...I even called a rep. and he told me the exact same thing that I found on the website. It was actually CHEAPER, yes cheaper to insure an 06 Si, then my 06 LX.
Why? Guy couldnt give me a straight answer other than possibly more safety (rear disc brakes, etc.).

That's weird. I would imagine the Si to be the most expensive to insure because most people who drive it are 16 to high 20s. It's a 2 door sports car so I'm not sure why it would be the cheapest?

Sometimes insurance confuses me ... i.e. Subaru WRX is AWD, 4 doors but it's very expensive to insure.

I think it would be a toss up of which is cheaper to insure, a 2dr Civic EX or Accord. The Civic is cheaper but probably has a more accident-prone age group driving it. The Accord is slightly more expensive but generally has a more maturer age group driving it.

NoBottleJustThrottle, hit this on the head. We can speculate all day, but you should just call your insurance carrier. They have the final say anyways. :)

While it's nice that everyone has their opinion, just pick out several companies and get quotes on these cars for you. Many factors influence rates including theft rates, cost to repari, etc. Back in the day, I was quoted the same price for a Gran Prix and a Trans Am, go figure.

insurance for my 01 ex was 200 less than my 06 Si.

You shouldn't buy a car based soley on insurance costs.

IMO, the Si is ten times better then my old EX, and well worth the 200 every six months.

Because the SI is more expensive and has more options (LSD, 4 wheel ABS, and better suspension) than the reg civic it has lower insurance. The other civic is more affordable by young drivers so they place more liability on it. The Accord is cheapest b/c it is a big family car with major safety options.
