Deploying.... Storing car?
So, I'm deploying for upwards 6-7 months... I don't really want to leave my SI outside in the elements and not be touched.
Are there actual trustworthy places you can store your car, started up weekly, oil changed at 3rd month, and driven around the lot once in a while so the tires don't get dry rotted? haven't done to much research yet as I still have three months. |

Thanks, my Dad lives 6 hours away and really doesn't like my exhaust. The garage he has is for the dog now.
The last very trustworthy friend tried sueing me for 12K dollars for damages to his house that happened while he was deployed and had another person living there... I got "stuck" with the keys because I was his only friend... I agreed to MOW the lawn, not upkeep on the house. He lost because there was no legally binding contract, definatly couldn't trust him with my car now. |

Best bet is just to wrap and store, Just like my girl, id rather have her sit there and get dusty, than have someone start her up once in a while to make sure she runs good.

Well, Im assuming you arent highly deployable, since you ar going to be teaching. So leave isnt really as big of an issue. If I ever get to a unit where Im not going to deploy every other year I might sell some leave.
I like how it works. You save up 30 days, and its like taking out a free $2k loan that you already paid off. |

Oh I'm highly deployable. I'm a 2T2... Passenger Terminal, ATOC, the guys who load your gear on the plane...
2 deployments in 13 months. 12 months gone, 12 months home. I just never use my leave because we're on 8 hour shifts and I have been use to 12's... these guys here have it so easy! |

Wow, I totally missed that post. Good answer
Airport terminal is a really bad place to keep a car for an extended amount of time. Go with leonphelpss11's answer. |
