That is a good point. I was just trying to explain to the people who drive SI's who are ragging on the car for being a Geo. They should step back and take a look at the CIVIC badge on the back of their car. They can't go around judging cars by their makes and models because they are in exactly the same place as the (Neon) SRT-4 and this guy even if they won't admit it. I love my civic when it works but still consider it a decent starter car (I have high standards for what I consider a nice car).

Hey, to all the people telling the Civic owners to step back and look at their civic and quit doggin on the geo, I say go ahead, rag on the geo.
I'm a proud civic owner. I WILL scoff at Geo's. Geo's don't have a resale value or a huge aftermarket following. Geo's aren't credited with bringing the "import scene" to the popularity it is at nor do they come with any options near what my Civic has. Sure my Civic isn't an "Acura RSX type S", it's a Honda Civic. So what? It's a nicer car than an RSX type S. By telling Civic owners to "step back and realize you drive a Civic", what argument would you then use for someone like me 1 year ago? "Step back and realize you only drive an Acura?" So you slap an "A" on there and a few letters instead of a name and now it's something better than "just a civic"? I don't think there's anything wrong with driving a Civic and I think it's fine to get high and mighty about your Civic. There's nothing wrong with being proud of what you drive. A geo with a K swap is, I'm sure, A monster... but so are a lot of Honda swaps too. I am one to be able to appreciate someones hard work and dedication and a Geo swap is a good example of that. I personally would have rather put that motor into 4 different cars before a geo, but good for them for doing something different. That's all. |

Why the hell would you put a less powerful engine in a WRX?
Who cares if it's a GEO, it's just a body shell at this point, it's not like he threw an intake and exhaust on a stock Metro and thinks it's fast. Not many here have much grounds to pick on that car, it's going to be a screamer if done properly and could make one HELL of a track car. This is the same thing as swapping a K20 into an old CRX, they're both small econo boxes, yet the CRX is magically cool because it's got Honda written on the back. |

Back on topic, that looks like a sweet project. That thing must fly. Here's a real sleeper of a geo, Buick LC2 swap and RWD conversion. YouTube - 9 second geo *~* |
