Donks and color schemes

Does anybody know whats the deal with donks being painted up with product advertisements (ie Cool Whip, Nerds, Skittles, M&M)? I seriously don't get it.

I don't get it either. I have also noticed a lot of Donks having NASCAR paint schemes and the driver has the matching racing jacket. It's pretty comical.

I don't get it either. At first I thought the owner did it that way on puropse, like with skittles or something, but who would purposely make a cool whip donk? Maybe they are sponsored? By food companies?

no they aren't sponsored, in fac the manufactures are indorsing them in anyway, but can't press charges against them because of freedom of speech. we had a write up about it in the times picayune over here in new orleans. supposedly this is where it started, but i don't know. trust me if you lived around here you'd see about two or three of these a day.

Well, I guess when u have a lime green caddy with a lift kit and 30's, it cant get much uglier anyway.

I also don't get it either... but i do find this picture quite comical...

They used to be all over the place down here (Reese's, UPS, M&M, Skittles), but I'm starting to see less and less of them. I think the majority of them have been painted over with ridiculous pearlescent (sp?), flake, metallic, and bright colored paint jobs. I've been seeing a lot of NFL teams too.

btw a donk is a Chevy Impala or Caprice from 1971 to 76

box= 78-90s impalla /caprice due to there box shape.

bubble 90-99 due to there bubble shape.

that pic above me makes me cry for my people ... its amzing how one black person can set the whole movement back 150 years. MLK is rolling in his grave.

I thought of all this because at work there was a copy of Donk: Bubbles and Box Magazine. The car had Cool Whip and Kraft on the side I'm guessing because his ride was a Cool "whip"........cute. The worst though was the huge page ad for this site Rim Financing
