Unhappy Small Accident

So here i am in downtown Houston Texas and im just getting out of a lunch meeting with a group of co-workers and fiance... Its about 1:30pm or so, and me knowing how crazy Houston drivers are look 2 times before merging into my lane...

Loe and behold, 2 seconds later my fiance, and coworkers are treated to a loud bang and my car getting pushed to the left side of the lane...

Comes out, the driver (in a 2009 Toyota Corolla) with a small brain didnt see me merging on my lane...

I was noticeably pissed off and told the driver that he could have killed us... Turns out the guy works for Harris County so the insurance goes through all this political red tape garbage...

So here i am, the accident happening on Friday of last week and my gorgeous NHBP Si has a nice dent on the right front bumper... I guess i just had to rant... Hopefully this gets resolved soon...

Have any of you guys ever had an accident on your car? A curbing of a gorgeous rim? A rock crack your windshield?

All i know is that when i heard the loud bang, i almost wanted to cry... LOL

Sucks when it happens, but you may be happier in the end. My 1993 Lexus SC300 was rear ended and since the bumper was all plastic, the bump popped right back out. I went to the Lexus dealer (hoping for the most expensive bill) to get a damage quote and got a 1800 dollar check for whole thing! Since it is an old car, I just pocketed the cash! I suggest you do something similar, goto an expensive auto repair shop for the quote, then goto someone cheaper to do the actual repair and pocket the remainder.

That depends on if the insurance company makes the check out to him or him AND the shop he received the quote from.

I curbed my wheel and extremely unhappy about it. Everytime I detail my car I think it looks like crap...

When I get back from Iraq I THINK I might upgrade to 18's.... but at the very least get some good 17's so I don't have to worry about the one inch difference.

I tried calling the insurance adjuster this morning and so far nothing, he is in this meeting that apparently never ends...

Oh well, if it doesnt get resolved soon i think im going to go through my insurance agency and hope that my rate doesnt go up... I have a police report stating that it wasnt my fault... Sooooo...

We'll see...

How did that happen? What was the rationale, like 99% of rear enders are the rear enders fault.

Well it wasnt a rear ender... The guy was changing lanes and did not see the fact that i had already pulled away from my parking space and occupied the lane... So he clipped the front of my bumber with his left rear bumper...
