I enjoyed my test drive of the 135i. Not a bad choice if you want power

The back seat isn't all that bad in that car. Lots of headroom. It's just less easy to access than with a dedicated door.

328i sedan with Letherette is going to run ~$33.5K stripped. Add the premium pkg and you're over $36K with nothing else added. May be out of your sister's price range.
Stripped C300 sport with 'nothing' runs ~$33K. Add in a basic premium pkg and you are at $35K to $37K (PI vs. PII). Again, this may be pushing your sister's budget. (C350 is $~38K base, so out of the price range) A Lexus ES350 may be in the price range if she sticks to basic options (PI pkg, Premium plug puts it over $36K). If this is going to be a 'family' car I would steer away from the IS due to the small rear-seating area. (That said, you can negotiate under $30K deals pretty easily on an IS250 with some decent options. The IS350 is going to be out of her price range) How about an Audi A4? She could get into a nice A4 2.0 TFSI with leather and the convenience pkg for about $34K. $32K without the convenience pkg, but I'd get it. All of the above are 'base' prices. I assume someone who knows how to negotiate will be present at the purchase?

G37 Journey with 'nothing' runs a tad over $36K (with destination). Add in the AWD takes you to about $37.5K. Add the premium pkg and you are over $40K.
A 'base' CTS will run $34K before a single option. With a basic luxury option you add $2K to $3K with nothing else added (6speed auto adds $1,300 as well) The Subaru spec B bases at $34K before options (though you don't really need any of the options offered as this already has the important ones) and only comes with a manual transmission. Does the sister want a manual transmission? Optionally, you could look at the Legacy 3.0R, which is about $32K before options (and has an Auto transmission). As already posted the C350 bases well above the $30K to $35K range they are looking at. The Acura TL-S bases at ~$38K before any options, which may price it outside of the specified range. The TL however, bases at ~$34K before options may be viable. Again, all prices are negotiable, but let's try to answer the OPs request of $30K to $35K. Many of the responses are shooting several $K above that price range.
