Evo?

I'm thinking bout trading in my FA5 for an evo...kinda getting tired of Honda. Anyone ever own one? Anything to look out for while test driving the car?

cars.com: 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

That would be the one I will be out test driving this weekend.

lol yea, that plastic gas pedal sucks. But im willing to bet there was more to it than just the pedal breaking by accident.

If you dont mind me asking how come are you looking to get rid of your FA5? Just a change of pace? Or is it the POS transmission?

I got my tranny fixed and have no problem with it whatsoever now. It's just I'm tired of Hondas?
I went from 05 Civic Si>99 Eclipse GSX>01 S2000>99 Integra GSR>07 FA5. I think its time for a change....

I wouldn't personally buy an used Evo. If you can afford the new payments and insurance, do it.

forgot, more gas money to burn too

If you are going to buy a used Evo get one 2005+ otherwise you are in for a boat load of trouble. IMO Evo's are a scary purchase because of how everyone who drives them, drives them hard.

I am actually going through the exact same thing right now, trying to decide between my 08' FA5 or get an Evo 9. I have my Civic set up for road racing events that I run at Summit Point and VIR, and I am able to hang w/ stock-ish Evo's and STI's on the track, but the modified ones just fly by me. I have a buddy who has an 04' Evo and when he drives my car he says it feels more comfortable for DD and a more quality feel, but the capability of his is car far beyond anything ours could ever achieve. Plus Insurance and Gas is much more for his and I pay. So for now, I'm keeping my FA5 due to practucality reasons, but here in a couple years I will trade it in for an Evo.

i'd never give up my new car for a used car. especially an evo. im not saying its not worth gettting the evo though. i'd get it in addition to the si or something. if you want something to just have a change of scenery, get a late 90's nissan or lexus or something. go find something with a 2jz and have some fun.

Do it!!! Id suggest getting the 9 if your gonna go pre owned. its easier to extract power out of the 9 due to the mivec. i put down 307whp and 323 wtq with just the qtp down pipe, invidia 02 housing, drop in filter and boost pill!!! haha!!!

if not the x's are look bad ass w/wheels and tires. They already have a sh*t load of parts available for the x as well as ecutek for tuning......for now. the ecu on the x is almost cracked!!!!!!

ps: i still got love for the fg2!!!!!!!!!
