So the accords larger displaced engine benefits from higher torque with lower compression and a lower redline.
Are you telling me you've considered this engine in an SI a better match than our K20z3?

Let me ask you this... did you want Honda to make the EP3 mistake again?

I did not mean it to be offensive. But since you asked, you're looking at the wrong engine. There are two I4 engines offered with the Accord. The one I am going to assume are the following engines
ACCORD: 190 hp @ 7000 rpm / 162 ft-lbs. @ 4400 rpm (87 oct)

vs.

CIVIC: 197 hp @ 7800 rpm / 139 ft-lbs. @ 6100 rpm (91+ oct)

Again, yea the low[er] end torque would be great, but do we want another EP3 mistake? I say no, I bought a Honda for its high revving torqueless engine. If I wanted more torque in a FF platform, I would have gotten a Spec V.

Spec V: 200 hp @ 6600 rpm / 180 ft-lbs. @ 5200 rpm (87 oct) No contest.

As for the Accord, the 2.4L I4 suits it much better since the heavier platform will require the increased torque numbers to get thing to scoot along at a reasonable pace.

EDIT: sorry, i thought you meant that you wanted an engine transplant... The Accord engine has more power but it is also heavier which will negate the increased power.

dont forget to take the weight of the car into consideration. the accord will be slower since its heavier.

varies by the accord

sedan wise
accord lx = 170hp/162lb-ft
accord ex = 190hp/162lb-ft
+400 lbs

coupe wise
lx/ex = 190hp/162lb-ft
+300lbs

i'd honestly say, a 5 speed coupe or ex sedan might give a decent run to an Si, and it'd slaughter a basic Civic

One thing I don't like about the Accord (other than the 60 buttons on the dash), is the fact that the header's built into the motor. No simple bolt on change out FTL

Doubtful

Coupe to coupe = +401lb accord ex
Sedan to sedan = +404lb accord ex

Yeah I doubt that too.

The Accord motor is no slouch thats for sure... In fact, it'd be interesting to slap one in a civic then race an Si...

But in the heavy accord, ehhh....

Here's the test... find 2 friends that will risk their lives, have them ride in your Si, then race the accord. You'd be adding (depending how large your friends are) almost the same weight as the accord.
