i've always been a yamaha fan, so I say the R6 hands down!!!

Yamaha in general makes the best street bikes amongst honda, suzuki, kawasaki

at one point a few years ago, i had a cbr 600, a ninja 600 and a yamaha yzf 600 (not r6)
and the yzf was the biggest piece of crap
it felt like a kids toy, just cheap

but that was a few years ago, and i only have the cbr now

didn't mean any offense but neither is a good choice for a new rider.

One thing worth checking is insurance, although it will probably be high with any SS bike.

And don't forget the sliders.
