people with tint

quick question, if you've got tint on your car, how does the top of the rear window look, with the dot matrix?

mines all funky ill take a pic soon, im pretty sure he went over it with tint but i dont like the look of it and was wondering if it would be too much to ask if i asked him to remove the tint on top of that and just leave it be as if there was no tint on it at all.

if any one has got their windows tinted please share if your rear window's top section with the dot matrix looks odd.

Mine looks fine. Then again, the guy who tinted mine was like the supervisor or manager that does that stuff at the dealer, he did an exceptional job. I know what you are talking about, I had a 2000 Accord done at a swap shop for like $45 and well, I got what I paid for. That dot matrix thingie you're talking about looked horrible from day one. I think its just a case of bad workmanship there...

the thing that annoys me is that every one i've talked to said they do a good job and i paid $150 for this so i hoped i would get some quality, i mean everything else looks great except the dot matrix part

My tint is cut just below the dots. The guys who did my tint said it wouldn't stick there, but I know that's not true because there's dots on the front and side rear side windows and it stuck fine to it. I told them this and then they said its gonna be clear there anyways so they tinted below the dots on the back glass. I've read on here about some members getting a piece of vinyl that's the same color of the car and putting on the outside of the glass where there is no tint on the dots, which I haven't done yet because it doesn't really bother me.

Mine looked like that a little at first but as the tint dried it pulled away in the dot area and looks clean now. you can take some clear nail polish and tack the edges of the tint down to the window to keep it from pealing.
Old tint trick....... But let it dry first.

I just got mine done and the tint people told me the samething about it's not easy to stick... however it doesn't look anywhere as bad as yours... you should have them re-do it.

I've only had tints for 1 day tho I think it should look alot better after it dries... problem is I notice some small bubbles on my side window... I may need to take it back and have them fix it which is pita for me.

The guy who did my tint did a very good job. He was able to make it stick to the dot matrix part and made it seamless, no bubbles and very clean. when i get a chance i show some pix. Its almost the same as Cybergypsy's car.

also one more question, if you got the front windshield strip done, how does it look over the dot matrix area above the rear view mirror?

did they avoid it or did they tint over it, because im worried its gonna turn out like the back did.

when i take it back for a front strip im going to ask if e can just completly remove that back area over the dot matrix area completly

my installer said he uses some kind of special glue over the dot matrix part, to seal in the bubbles. It looks perfect. He said many shops dont do this

Mine looks like that in spots right now but they told me it would and told me to come back in a couple weeks after it has dried so they can smooth it out and get rid of it.

I disagree, I've had my windows done by the same place on several cars over the last 10 years and everytime I get some bubbling on the dot matrix and every time it goes away once the tint settles.
