2008 Chevy Cobalt SS sedan

Ok so I felt compelled to post this because I had such a good laugh just now looking at this thing haha.

Now before anyone goes on a rant about how fast it is and how well it performs I already know its pretty quick but thats not why I'm posting haha.
Seriously could this thing be any uglier?! HAHAHA
I mean Jesus Christ look at those taillights haha.
I literally laughed out loud at my computer chair just now when I saw this thing. Chevy is completely out of their minds for thinking this is what people want hahahaha. Come on people there has got to be someone on here who completely agrees with me....this thing couldnt look any more cheap/crappy in my humble opinion.
Who would want to be seen in this?!?! It looks like your driving around a 96 Cavalier hahahaha!

And before anyone asks why I posted it in the SI section is because this is suppose to be a direct competitor?! haha
Plus I have a 2007 SI sedan and thought us SI guys would get a good laugh out of this one lol.

No, I don't agree with you. I don't see what's so ugly about it. It probably costs the same as an SI and it's another in a long line of sub-compacts that will completely blow us away at the track. Nothing funny about that.

Moved to the Garage because thats where it belongs.

I like the Cobalt.... the coupe. The sedan isn't ugly, it's just bland.

Classis textbook definition of a "sleeper"... Powerful engine and better suspensions in the most plain-jane body styles.

After experiencing the 2.0 turbo in a Solstice GXP this weekend at an autocross, I can say this thing's gonna be a helluva track toy (road course or autocross), especially w/ a $500 LSD option.

I love the sleeper look = less attention from the police.

I would love to get my hands on a Solstice hardtop coupe when they come out. I'd wait for that. So, what is your overall opinion of the Solstice on a scale of 1 -10, 10 being the best? Looks, handling, power?

You said 'HAHA' a bit too much in this thread.

Secondly, it's not a bad looking car. As stated above, it's just bland. And I know you're not questioning the performance of it, but I spent the whole day yesterday in my friends 2007 Cobalt SS S/C and it's a blast to be in on the freeway. The coupe is one nice looking car. The back end of the sedan messes it up.

Looks: 9 The clamshell front scares me a little from a "cost to fix" perspective". But the car is clean and pure, less busy than the Sky.

Handling: 12 The car I was in had been prepared for A Stock autocross competition. It could fit 295's on the OEM 8.5" wide wheels. Match it with the Z0K package Bilsteins or the custom Koni's this car had and it just gripped.

Power: 12 I was in a GXP. The turbo is a lag-free beast that pulls like a BMW inline six.

I said in my post in the autocross forum that I'd do this over the S2000 if I were to buy one for autocross competition.

Sweet thanks. I like that car and I hate how GM sometimes falls short on their good looking cars. you're the first person I've spoken to who has driven one. Thanks again.

Lol @ the rental car comment...

GM isn't on the mark for styling very often, what didn't 20 of their cars look identical to eachother in the 90s? and even still... that's all they do is rebadge things in the first place.

And when people see this beater looking car it will remind them of their old car and want to buy it? At least I hope that's their rationality.

looks way better than the coupe. and the taillights are way better than the FA tails.

still looks like a rental though.

Yeah I agree I don't think it is ugly just not much character to the car IMO. The rims are a huge upgrade in the looks category from the SC model.
