General Tranny questions
I'm fairly car savvy, but I have never really understood trannys. Can somebody explain to me wha gear ratios mean? Maybe some examples of what different ratios would feel like?
Thank much:)

Its a gear reduction #. Say 4:1 That means the input shaft(motor) turns 4 times to every 1 time the output shaft turns. Say an overdrive has a .76:1 That means the input shaft(motor) Is turning slower than the output shaft. The 4:1 transfers ALOT more power but has a much slower top speed. Thats why you have so many gears.
