Just yesterday the Nissan GT-R lapping the Nurburgring faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo with a unofficial record time of 7:38. Earlier this morning, Nissan engineers took the GT-R at the Nurburgring circuit once again for high-speed testing.

New reports from the KGP spies say that Nissan engineers hinted that the GT-R lapped the Nurburgring somewhere under 7:35. With a time like that, the Nissan GT-R is setting its sight on the Carrera GT. Walter Röhrl has reportedly lapped the Nurburgring in a Carrera GT in 7:28.

This monster is the real deal... Hold on to your horses gentlemen, this is going to get ugly...

Good post David. The GT-R does indeed rule. I for one am completely smitten by the car. It rocks on the street, in the quarter mile and on the Nurburgring. It has super-supercar performance at a fraction of the price of any exotic. The only downside will be the killer markups that dealers will charge.

I won't say any names but there are some well respected people on here that claim that it just can't happen, etc.

Even with the mark-ups it's still a major fraction of the cost...

to Nissan. For the GT-R and the new HR(high rev) engine in the 350Z. Please don't screw up the 370z, bring the Altima SE-R Spec V (RWD) to the states and do work a miracle on the Sentra SE-R Spec V and you will have it made.

Hey David, since you are a sponsor, I have been looking for someone to use my car as a testbed for a turbo, BBK, coilovers, lightweight wheels and some cf parts. How about helping a fellow 8th gen member out? I'll make sure I put a good word in for you with your company.

So true. Can you imagine if you could get them for MSRP? What a bargain!

Not a problem man. I know everything there is to know about tuning and turbo kits, especially on Nissans (Infiniti).. I just fix the cars, i'll leave it up to the real experts to tune them.

Its doing great. I cant wait to see it go against the corvette zr-1 when its released.
With dealermarkup on both they should be priced at 100 grand. The zr-1 is 89,000.

Anyways you cant deny the nissan GTR performs no one did though

I love the car, but I'm not a fan of it weighing nearly 4 thousand pounds. Not that it matters because I'll never have it, but all the same..

Is that really the announced price for the ZR-1? I thought it was supposed to start at $100k+, no?
