Si - Best $20k (approx) NEW Car?

obviously we all (the si owners) felt this way at one point or another... (since we bought the car)...

but, do you still feel that it is the best bang for the buck?

what other cars would u consider in the price range if you were shopping as of today?

Depends on how much you paid. It's no surprise that the MS3 has really hit the spot when it comes to setting the new standard. Also, the new SS is coming out to dominate all under the 23k price range and the new Gensis is coming out also, something to look out for.

Very true, you can get a base SI for a hair over 20K but for about 23K you can get a MS3 which we all know if factoty turbo and can be a 12second car with boltons and no tunning. The SI is a fun, reliable and a very well rounded car but it sure is NOT going to be the fastest compact car on the streets. I owned a MS3 and have 3 friends all with MS3's or MS6's and they all have issues with there turbo seals or bad rear ends with the AWD

Yeah, I talked to a Mazda Tech at Chicken Express and he said that they are a pain in the ass to work on. He described one of the many major flaws in the engineering that went into the MS3 which was a timing control accuator (could explain but don't care too, most people wouldn't understand anyways).

The MS3 is quick real quick..... My friend ahs one with $700.00 in mods (intake/dowpipe and testpipe) and he takes out full stage 2 STI's from a roll. The other hand is his car blows out smoke like a champ from time to time because of the turbo seals. The SI is pretty well built even with the 3rd gear issue but hey that's Honda from what I've always seen with syncro issue's.

I still feel the Si is still the best bang for the buck. You get the reliability of Honda and great features that come with the car. Its also the best resale value car too. The value of the Si is so good I would buy one all over again.
