Ok let me get this straight. Basically, the district manager is telling you that his company (circuit city) isn't going to help you with your problem (that they caused) anymore.

What insurance company? Yours????? or theirs???

For him to make a statement like that is the equivalent of.....

I'm hired to come into some one's house to fix their wiring system. I'm an independent contractor..... I come in and do a job for 3 thousand dollars and later on they (the buyer) finds out that I (the contractor) did 12-13 smooth thousand dollars of damage to the house.

Now because i offered a refund for the work, and they took it, I'm not liable for damages caused by my faulty work......

That sir, is first grade BULL SHIT!

I just read the entire thread, GOOD to see you have representation on this, like one of the moderators said, do what ever it is that your lawyer is telling you to do. After the fallout and the car is fixed, that company will have a very bad blemish in tis public eye, I'm sure the installation department will have to replace all its workers to get back any trust with the public, maybe even get totally new management.

You need to get on the phone with the better business bureau and make This companies worst nightmare come true.... get on the news with a local tv station and take your case to the public..... but before you do that, call back that district manager and let him know your going to do it and see what he has to say. You're totally in your rights to let eVeRyOnE know what kind of experience you had at that store. Its not Liable if its TRUE! Its not slander if its TRUE. If i lived in your neighborhood, i would go out of my way to go to that store and give the manager a piece of my mind.....

Bad public relations is a store's worst nightmare..... if they can't get people to come in the door because the public doesn't trust them to fix their own mistakes, they will go out of business in a Hurry.

YOU HAVE THAT POWER RIGHT NOW>! don't let it slip away!

Good luck to you man, and i hope you take these Bastards to the cleaners....

My friend is the install manager at best buy in connecticut and he does a better job with his installs than alot of audio shops that I have been to in Florida. He grew up around car audio so he really knows his stuff when it comes to buying/installing car audio.

Send the CircuitCity GM a link to this thread and a screenshot of the 200-500 people constantly viewing it. That should get his attention.

That and "lawyer up" are the best advice at this point.

Couple things...

1. Do not cash any check that is for the labor aspect of the job, just parts. If they try to give you some of the 12k in damage and you cash it you'll ruin your chances for a full 12k fix.

2. Get the paperwork ready to sue them including photos and honda paperwork. Make a copy of the entire thing, and fedex it to the store manager, general manager. Give them a deadline then file it at your local court (waaay cheaper than lawyer) and if they don't contact you then sue

Good luck, they are counting on your inaction.

First of all VTECnical or even the MODS....you should clarify to everyone which Circuit City you're talking about because:

1. That Circuit City store # you provided throughout this thread is located in Vernon Hills somewhere in New York
2. You live in New York
3. The Autoblog states that this Circuit City store is located in Vernon Hills, ILLINOIS

Please clarify on the first page which Circuit City you are talking about and to notify Autoblog about the mistake (if it is a mistake) so the Vernon Hills, IL Circuit City does not get a bad rep for this, especially with all the people that is viewing this thread worldwide on the internet.

Evan....i dont think they are talking about the Circuit City in our hometown so don't do anything until VTECnical has clarified which Vernon Hills store messed up his car.

Evan....i dont think they are talking about the Circuit City in our hometown so don't do anything until VTECnical has clarified which Vernon Hills store messed up his car.

Bought a Pioneer AVIC Z2 and other components for $3,190.62 in July with only 800 miles on the car. The work was done in Illinois by the Circuit City located at 551 N Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills, IL 60048.

Months of phone calls to the Circuit City Road Shop Manager located at 551 N Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills, IL 60048.

I move to Glen Cove New York in Janurary 21.

Called Circuit City's 1-800 number and started case number 922885 on January 31.

Circuit City refunds $3,190.62 in March.

Circuit City directs me to the 3rd party insurance company. Circuit City cuts communication with me.

Car taken to North Shore Honda, Glen Cove NY Estimate of $12,119.64 in damages drafted by Honda and car is declared unsafe to drive.

I am dealing with Specialty Risk Services, Circuit City's insurance company.

No slander here. Just the facts. I am leaving adjectives out of my posts.

Thank you for the support everyone. I feel awful after driving a car that is unsafe for the road and had ZERO help from Circuit City's staff.
