Wow!! Drama :P
Why can't you just tell us what happened? like:
1- Went to Circuit City to install DVD
2- Installation went bad, had to go back to circuit city multiple times
3- Started Case but nothing was resolved
4- My airbags and electrical system are destroyed. Total damage of $12K

Damn, talk about F**ked up. Hope they poney up the cash for the damage caused and make sure it is all fixed correctly.

I don't know if they will easily hand over 12K. I can see any business doing that. I hope I'm wrong and they don't give you anymore crap.

One other things to add about Circuit City. My friend bought a new Honda Odyssey and bought a Stereo to have installed at Circuit City. He had to go back 3 times for them to get it to work properly.

I know that $12,000 sounds large. Start thinking about the costs of air bags. That gives you an idea of the damage done to my car.
i'll take into consideration the cost of labor... i'll even exaggerate and ASSume it's half the cost of parts...

with that said a dashboard is about $300 the frame is maybe $200 all the wires is about another $300... actual airbags were not affected unless they blew them by touching wires... the airbag module is about another $300, stock amp $300, i'll even add all the airbags in the car with drastic round up $3000... let's add the stock ecu and round up too $1500 there's not much more i can think of and that's still @ $11,800...

i need more info to figure how they got to $12k... remember my prices were pretty exaggerated... not calling the OP a liar, i would like to see how Honda got that number...

Yeah, I was the guy that installed the TWM short shift kit. That was the week before I took my car to Circuit City to have the Pioneer unit removed.

I worked at Best Buy. It also REALLY depends on the installer. When the best guy we had left...I was worried for a lot of the customer's cars...but, I was in the Video Game section, so I just messed around there.

Its actually the same criteria to get a job installing at both places. You need to be 18. You don't have to know anything about car to install at either. All "training" is done in house.

There are some really good installers that work at both places. Its just rare that you get one. Most of the time they are just ok.

In my experience, you roll the dice when it comes to both BB and CC. Some stores have some very talented and trained techs, but both stores do employ some pretty shifty people, and some people without a whole of lot of experience. It's like going to a Honda dealership to buy a car. Some salesmen and dealers on a whole are pretty good to deal with but we all know some dealerships and salesmen are best to be avoided.

I have taken 4 or 5 cars to both CC and BB over the years and my only issue was at a CC 2 years ago.

I had a amp and 10 inch sub installed and the items worked great. However, I noticed that after I filled up my car I would smell gas for about 20 miles, especially after I breaked. I took the back seat out and noticed that whoever screwed the amp in punctured the gas tank and gas was leaking underneath the seat. I promptly went back to CC where they looked at it and stated it was their fault. They also said the tech that installed my stuff had been fired for doing the same thing.

I got the vehicle fixed and CC paid for everything. Good luck and I hope your case turns out like mine, but 12k is a lot more then the 400 dollars or so it was to fix my issue.

Best bet is to go and talk to the audio guys. If you could, I'd even talk to guys who look like they've got audio stuff done to their car who work at that CC, and ask who did it.

That's why I didn't get stuff installed at Best Buy when I worked there...I ended up taking them elsewhere, when I heard the only good installer left.
