If you are out looking at the civics on the lot - take note of the Vin Number. I've been told that the first civics being sold in the US were built in Japan. All of the Japan built civics will start off their vin with " J******". So look for the "J" at the beginning of the Vin and you'll know if it was produced in Japan or the US.
