Don't buy from Showstoppers or Pro Motion Distributing

I spoke to Webby a few days ago about the problems I have experienced with ShowstoppersUSA, and subsequently with Pro-Motion Distributing. He suggested I should make a thread describing what has happened, and I wanted to share it with all of you in the sincere hope that anyone looking to buy parts for their FG, or any other car, not go though ShowStopperUSA.

I have Tein S-Tech's on my FG now, but they are not low enough, so I decided to go lower with a set of Neuspeed Race Springs. I searched around the web, and found prices around $215 to $240. I called Chuck on Tuesday 5/16 at Showstoppers and asked if he sold this particular product, even though it is not listed on their site, and he immediately replies that he was expecting to receive a shipment of FG Neuspeeds the following day. I asked how much, and he said $171 shipped, which is a good price. So, I gave my CC number and asked him to send a receipt to my email immediately, then a tracking number when the springs go out.

By Thursday I received no receipt or tracking #. I live in NorCal, and Chuck said I should expect delivery by Friday of the same week. I called again, spoke to some jackass kid who acted like I was wasting his time and asked for the receipt and tracking #. Still nothing. I sent 4 emails total asking for the same thing from this business, but received not one reply. I called Friday night when the package didn't show and spoke to Chuck, the owner of the store and a major site sponser on FGcoupe.com, asked him for the tracking number and he said he would email it immediately. Still nothing. They took their money out of my bank account, but continually failed to provide a receipt or proof that they shipped it.

I called on the following Monday, and Chuck says that Neuspeed was going to ship it direct to me. I spoke to Neuspeed after the call, and they had no record of any order for me or going to ShowStoppers. On Tuesday, Chuck says he doesn't know what's going on, and now says that a wholesale company called Pro-Motion Distributing is going to send my springs. I call them, and they say they will send it on Friday (today, 5/26). So before I cancel the whole thing 'cause I'm ******* pissed off, I wait until today. I speak to Rich from Pro-Motion again, and he says they always had the springs in stock, but were waiting for Neuspeed to send some noise reducers for the springs (similiar to the brown rubber wraps used on all of out Tein's). I've had Nuespeed's before, and I have never known them to use noise-reducers. This morning he says they got everything they need to ship to me, then this evening he says that they didn't get what they need, and I will have to wait until some unknown point in time.

Granted, I only bought some springs for a Civic, but neither company, especially Showstoppers, has treated me with an ounce of professionalism or respect. I was fed lies by Chuck and Rich, outright lies, and they barely sent me a receipt a few days ago, and of course told me the product was already shipped when it never was. I called back to Showstoppers tonight, demanded my card be refunded immediately, and Rocky said he would fax the confirmation immedately to me, but nothing came through. Big suprise.

Please, anyone looking to mod their car, never go through Showstoppers. I am on a crusade now to talk **** about them all over the net, with every forum that caters to any car they sell for. Any bit of business I can take away from them will be time well spent. If you want parts for suspension or other bolt ons for the FG, go through "Webby", I bought the Teins from him and they arrived just as they should have.

Sorry for the long story, but I wanted to detail all the bull**** I had to go through, and still am---Brian

I know exactly what you're going through. Not to hijack the thread, but today I got a call from a customer that had been given the run around for almost a year. He has documented EVERYTHING from the conversation he originally had with us last year that started his initial order up to today. It got so bad he wants to take us to claims court. Not a whole lot I can do and quite frankly I don't feel that bad because from the sounds of it, we screwed him and one of our dealers screwed him, so it is what it is. I hope he gets some money too.

Support 8thcivic.com. There's definitely a reason this site has a store. Plus Webby's great about giving us information and fair prices and remaining professional.

I hope you get this resolved.

Stuff like this needs to be alerted on internet forums so other people will not make the same mistake.

man sorry to hear that! Can you make a thread on FGcoupe.com or since showstoppers is a sponsor will if get deleted? Anyway I am all for spreading the word on these guys. "Companies" like this are the reason it is so hard to find a place to buy parts online that won't rip you off.

Generally. But you've gotta find somebody who's really passionate about what they're doing. Where I used to live, there was this little general store owned by this older gentleman and his wife for a number of years. They were constantly busy because they were the sweetest couple I've ever met. They really tried to get you what you needed and if they didn't have it, they'd take your name and number and call you within about a week because by then, they'd have it.

But try going to the larger grocery store and all I got was attitude from the 11th grader stocking the isles, the 10th grader cutting the meat and the 9th grader at the cash register...

Oh and of course, support the site sponsors too!!!

It also happens at big chain resturants. The highschool age waiters always seem like you are wasting their time when you ask them for anything other than your meal. I'm always afraid that these types are going to do something to my food just b/c I ask for a refill on my drink or exta sauce.

Lol...they'll give you some extra sauce alright...:gaygiggle

2fast, why am I not surprised? that's kinda lame. They've been reported to scamboard numerous times...but I guess fgcoupe would rather not even deal with it so, hey, it is what it is.

I'm not going to post anything ever again on FGcoupe. When I originally wrote this story in the thread sponsored by Showstoppers, I got some flaming for my immature attitude at first, then some more comments later from one of the moderators stating what a good merchant Chuck at Showstoppers is, and how I'm just a newb and a troll who was there to start trouble.

I did come across as a 16 year old kid at first because I was so mad, but I later took my time and explained what happened just as I explained it here. He called me a newb and troll. So, I just told him to ban me and suck a fart out my ass. I wont post there anymore--Brian

I've dealt with showstoppers before and haven't had many problems. Chuck and Rocky do their best but it's obvious at times that they get overwhelmed.

That's quite immature of them. I don't hang out too much over there because I find the hustle and bustle of 8thcivic intoxicating. Plus, it's a really fun and tight-knit over here. I can't get down with the whole name calling though. If you have a bad experience it should be shared and acknowledged before people start flaming...that's wack.
