GT Competition Body Kit

Never Before Seen By Me. I figure it needs its own thread because I like how it looks. What does everyone think?

The back is too much though, but either way I have the sedan so I would only be looking at the front bumper. Do you guys think it will fit on the sedan?

Not without modification. The sedan and coupe are different and with different measurements.

I know what they are. I've posted them numerous times here, but I guess one more time wouldn't hurt...

The coupe and sedan don't share ANY body paneling...NONE, ZIP, NADA. Not even the windshields (they don't sit at the same angles either). The mounting points for the bumpers aren't even relatively the same.

IC thanx for the info. Thats wierd that they did that. I understand they where built in diffrent places, I dont understand why they made the specs all diffrent.

Because they're two different cars with two different personalities...it's not like it hasn't been done before. Pontiac Vibe = Toyota Matrix, Chevy Cobalt SS = Saturn Ion Redline = Pontiac G5 SS, Scion xA = Scion xB (no, seriously...they're the same car), the list goes on...

It's definitely not unheard of :)

Platform sharing is very cost effective. It not only allows technology to be shared, but it also increases competition, which in business is always a good thing (although Bill "Mr. Monopoly" Gates would probably say otherwise). The RSX is built upon the Civic chassis, the EURO Civic is built upon the Jazz/Fit chassis, Mitsubishi/Daimler-Chrysler/Dodge is sharing technology for their upcoming cars, including the Caliber SRT4 and Mitsubishi Evo X. It makes it so we don't have to pay $30K for a Honda Fit or $60K for a Pontiac G6 because the architecture isn't exclusive to one particular car. Did you know that the few Civic Si's that were used in pre-testing for the magazines and Honda dealers were hand-built and cost about $250,000 each? This being a new generation with a brand new platform, imagine the cost for Honda having to recoup that much or some price even relatively close to that. We won't even go into the cost of the Civic IMA...

Manufacturers share platforms to cut cost. We're the ones that benefit. Actually, EVERYONE benefits because it keeps the cost low so that we can afford the products, and the manufacturers can make a profit.

Don't worry too much about no kits being put out for the sedan. Remember, we drive civics, there will be many kits availible to both the coupe and sedan very soon. I'm preety sure the civics are right up there when it comes to aftermarket availibility.
