2nd gear

so its been a long time issue on these boards (as long as i can remember). the infamous "for those of you grinding second gear". Well i was (and still am) one of those people and i think i'm really close to losing second gear. I installed the TWM short shift kit with bushings and shift knob about a year ago and the grinding second gear problem got really bad about 4-5 months ago. i figured it was just me being lazy and then realized its definitely not driver error. when i went in for my last oil change i asked one of the guys if someone could check it out. he said they could but if i took off the shifter set up and brought it in and replicated the problem it would be covered under warranty. i can't replicate it, i've been trying to figure out when and why it does it but i can't figure it out. there is no pattern to it. is anyone else experiencing this problem? if so, did you resolve it with honda?

If you can't replicate the problem anymore I'd say the problem is fixed. Or change your tranny fluid to amsoil syncromesh and you shouldn't have any more problems. Thats what I did 6 months ago and everything works fine.

Maybe you're not pushing clutch in all the way.
Happens to me sometimes. It just happens.

most everyone will notice a grind when trying to do 1-2 shifts really quickly at the redline. That's normal IMO. It's when your shifting slowly at redline or shifting quickly not at redline and still seeing the grind that is a problem.

I warmed the car up for 10 minutes this afternoon (it was really cold here today), and drove it lightly.

Grinded and disengaged (for the first time ever) 2nd gear, and it goes without saying third popped out just about every other time I tried putting it in.

I am concerned about second as of late, because while it has grinded in the past for me, it has never popped out...

Until now.

Just one more for the list.

I def have this issue and mine is an '08. It's only when I hit WOT and try to shift quick into second....i therefore try to avoid WOT if at all possible from 1st -> 2nd. What else can you do?
