no. Toyota has never been one to make a good drivers car, especially in their economy models. Honda/Acura has always been miles ahead of Toyota/Lexus in that department. they are soft, with loose vague steering, and lousy handling. sure sometims they have some good sporty/sports cars like the celica or mr2 or supra, but most of their cars make me want to shoot myself they are so drab and boring to drive.
not to mention, gone is the high revving 8400RPM 2ZZ, that made 180HP from 1.8, now you have a lazy camry 2.4 that makes 158HP. pass. ill take an R18 any day. |

are you sure? because IIRC, corolla are generally just barley cheaper than an equivalant civic but do not include ABS and Side Curtain airbags in ANY of the trims, they are options. once you add those youre generally looking at ~$500 more than an equivalent civic. so unless the new XRS is cheaper than the current LE...no, its not the same price of an EX.

I just wonder how the new Corollas drive. If it's anything like the previous generation, I would pass!
![]() Now, if it handled and drove like my Civic EX, then it would be OK. I've just never been a fan of Toyota, all their cars have what I call "Granny Steering". My wife just returned her '06 Corolla rental car, which I did drive once on a trip to her parents house. I told her, we get free mileage, lets not put them on the Civic. After about 20 min of driving I was kicking myself for not taking the Civic! |

As for me, I would certainly need to drive it before making any rash descisions. I would like to feel how it handles and check out the interior. But going just on exterior looks I would keep my Civic. |

i'm sure you already expected 99% of people who will respond here will say no, dont trade it in, xrs is fugly as hell, not enough hp, ugly inside and out. i'd rather drive my dx/lx/ex... for the simple reason that you are on a honda forum...
try posting the same on a toyota forum and 99% will say trade it in, civics are for ricers, they are slow and expensive, go get the xrs. why dont you compare the car side by side and get some reviews for us or possibly test drive the xrs then post it here so we know which one is a better car.
